In a recent video interview published on the Time.com web site, the chief pilots of the Solar Impulse II aircraft are each seen wearing Omega watches. As well they should be since Omega is a major sponsor of the project. What's interesting is their individual choice of watches. Pilot Borschberg is wearing an X-33 Skywalker/Solar Impulse II Limited Edition watch, which is not a big surprise. Pilot Piccard, however, appears to be wearing an old-fashioned Speedmaster moonwatch on an orange strap. View the entire video for yourself and see if you agree with my I.D.

It's really hard to tell, but it's more likely the first Speedmaster Solar Impulse, HB-SIA, which is available on a bright orange strap like that.

This photo is not from that video, but he's definitely worn that watch/strap combo before.

I have that watch...and of course had to get the strap.... Boy is it bright! I was only able to stand wearing it for about 2 weeks....and that was around Halloween!!! Yikes!!!

Aha! Yes, it's the HB-SIA! My initial I.D. was incorrect.
