Looking at a new speedy, the solar impulse, but can’t seem to figure out what if any case backs would be compatible or is the size or threads unique to the solar impulse. Reason is I want to pull the case back to preserve it while and use another oem or after market. Bonus if I can use a sapphire display type case back like I have done on my limited moon watch. I know some people hate the idea, but I keep the original so it can always go back to original. Any input is appreciated as I can’t seem to find an answer.

Please forgive my original comment....I'm getting my Dad's current Solar Impulse mixed up with his new one (the X33).

If they do an exhibition caseback that matches the titanium of the HB-SIA I'm all ears!

Yes I was not trying to look inside the x33 😀 trying to look inside at the 3603 movement. While not the best to look at, being an automatic, it is Rhodium plated with gold plated engravings, I personally think it’s a very nice looking motion. But any idea what if any case backs are compatible? Exhibition or not?

The same 3603 movement is used on the Broad Arrow GMT, Seamater Aqua Terra GMT and De Ville Chronoscope GMT. I am think if any OEM back will work it would be the broad arrow, as it is a speedy with the same 44.25 case size, but it is steel, so many dimensions could be different? The aqua terrra is titanium, but a sea master? If anyone knows please let me know.

From what I can find the broad arrow 3581.30.00 seem to be the only watch with the same size case and 3603 movement as the solar impulse, but does any one know if the caseback and threads are the same, and just as important, anyway to buy that case back?
