I started listening to their drivel... bunch of idiots.

This. The problem with 99% of YouTube channels is the creators have too much time, too much ego, and not enough knowledge. The people who have the knowledge don't have the time and/or the ego to create a YouTube channel

Or they have some time, they build something fun and interesting, with great guests… and no one watches… because it’s not sensationalist drivel about “the next big investment piece” or “why grand Seiko is better than <insert Swiss brand> but only smart people know” or “I said I’d never flip my Rolex, but here’s how I flipped my Rolex”.

There’s a self fulfilling cycle of douchebags making YouTube content for wanna be douchebags.

Meanwhile, if you wanna hear real folks talking about the watches they own… https://youtube.com/c/Time4APint

Sadly Roger Smith had no advice on getting onto an ADs list for a stainless sports Rolex… so I guess we failed?

Subscribed, there are a few decent ones around

Edit: Also not subscribed to these gentleman guys nor giving them watch time. I like my watch dealers like I like my accountants, boring, efficient and good at what they do.

There are a few good ones (Time4aPint and Two Broke Watch Snobs are the only ones I listen to on a regular basis), but they're vastly outnumbered by the sensationalist, ignorant schlock.

Plugging Kristian and Nick (DailyWatch Talks) and a recent episode — love these guys!

I’m watching the reveal now.

What’s commendable I heard is shifting 5% of their monthly profits to Charities, the auctions and time now onwards.

The blackout certainly created a lot of buzz. Hopefully some of the positive notes stick with those watching.
I did not follow... so what's the name of the Charity? "Save Timepiece Gentleman from Evil Social Media"?

So does that mean they’re still doing the charity thing… or not?

I doubt they can survive after this stunt. Seem like some other dealers like Roman are trying to distance themselves from TPG eventually.

The 3 thousand comments within about 2 hours bagging them may have had something to do with it….

Only if giving to others results in the most important gift of all: Something more for TPG.

For anyone still interested, this analysis is pretty spot on.

When are people going to say out loud that what is going on here is a scam?

Even the most cursory glance at what's being going over the past week or two indicates a business that is about to go under.

The only question in my mind is: when the dust settles will their "business decisions" be better characterized as "horrible" or "criminal"?

They're the same people that use the word "bro", and in my personal experience work in sales roles within advertising and financial businesses.

They (again, in my personal experience), favour IWC chronographs, and Rolex Daytonas - in gold.

I'd also add - you don't need to own a watch at all, to dislike Adrian and his kind.
What is baffling for me is a number of YouTube channel are popping up with very basic content, and they have more than 100k subscribers. Then on the other side you have channel who produce absolutely world class content like ‘Time4aPint’ which doesn’t have a lot of subscribers. How is this possible?
