Just had a full body respray done on my BMW, its a 2001 model E46 330CI 5SP Manual M-Sport

That's the last of the good looking 3 series. I hate the bangle-butt on the newer ones.

This becomes a lesson in time management...I feel your pain, growing up on Long Island, NY and spending much time on the beaches with my jeep I found myself in several similar situations...
Me and my buddy Dave after one such situation, circa 1988

What my Jeep should look like under normal circumstances...

No it was local boys, thank goodness, in the Hampton/Quogue area or it would have been so much worse.

Slight drop on Eibach Pro-Kit springs, with Koni FSD shocks, the Koni's are absolutely magic, they use this frequency adaptive double valving system to soak up sudden bumps like potholes or rough surfaces while staying stiff as a board for slow shocks like cornering, imagine 1980s Cadillac smoothness over bumps, track car stiffness around corners.

Good call !! we had one of the first e90 ZHP N54 's in North America and the suspension set-up became notorious and infamous for suffering what became known as "pothole explosions". I see that we 're all car guys so you know the deal. I told my wife that the 3 series was perfect for her and the kids driving around the neighborhood but meanwhile the n54 was making 350hp / 350ft lbs bone stock lol. I got too cute and ordered the the sport pack. Bad idea! I almost had to dump it but the FSD's saved the day. There was a 3 month waiting list but I gave the parts guy a hundred bucks and got them STAT.

that car was a blast . I put a jb3 piggyback and a meth kit on it hahaha. My wife was like "what's wrong with this car, it whistles??"

i hated selling that car but the kids were getting bigger and I was pushing the limits of the motor and ZHF trans. She was making over 440hp @ the flywheel.

So, in typical car lunk head fashion, I convinced the wife she needed the new 550i. 480hp bone stock and for 2g's you can buy another 125 getting get over 600hp in a family sedan lmao!!!!!

oh, and i got to keep my little M1.

(((BMW guy fist bump)))

The original owner of my 330ci had installed Kings Superlow springs and was running heavy as hell 19s with stretched tyres on blown OEM shocks, so going from that to the BMW 17" Style 68Ms (equal lightest 17 BMW makes) with high end tyres, and raising it with the Eibach springs (It actually went up an inch over what it was, still lower than stock though) plus the FSDs made it a massive upgrade. It really does ride better than any car I've ever had over rough Brisbane roads, and on twisty roads it just comes alive brilliantly, still considering some Hotchkis sways for it too.

When you say M1 is that the 1M or the old school M1?

Oh, no, I wish. It's the new 1M E82 coupe. bought it with 4500 miles from a NY Giant NFL player who didn't really love it. Saved 18 g's on a car that had a waiting list selling +invoice.
because of that, ill most likely keep it. It's the second time I've purchased a used car off a football player.

Fun car. I'm one hand typing on an iPhone and it's kicking my butt.

I really like sienna red. Looks like they did a good job. Smart idea to change the panels.

any paintwork; I use a somewhat local guy (I'm in manhattan and brooklyn) and they're in Glencove, LI.

Ready for for the BEST car pRon ever? Ready?? These guys do cars from all over the planet. These oligarchs and oil sheiks literally fly their cars to Long Island every week.

its the best bodyshop in the world, bar none.

I'd have to disagree on that last part 馃榾 We've got a place called Sleeping Beauties in Brisbane that specialises in rare and ultra-rare total restorations:

http://sleepingbeauties.com.au/mercedesbenz300SL.html

When the Mercedes museum in Germany need a car done right they send it to Brisbane (and have several times).

nice shop! I can see right away that they're a serious resto shop.

take a look at Martinos shop and the equipment. BMW sold them proprietary tool and die works and frame makers. I know for a fact that they're the only independent shop in the world with this equipment. Basically, they're a mini BMW build facility (factory).

Look at the cars they repair, It's bonkers, I saw the repair order for some lambo something and the work order was over 400,000 USD lol馃挵

The two positives to it are firstly the reduction of body roll though I have to admit the Koni's have removed most of that and the car corners very flat as it is, the second is that running a stiffer front on a MacPherson strut front end should help prevent the outside wheel transitioning into positive camber under hard cornering. Downside is the ride could be a bit rougher though probably not too much.
