Updated all of the wiring so it's routed inside of the frame. Much cleaner now.
I've also increased the power to 7.5kw. Does 0-60k in 5-6 seconds. New speed record is 83kph. Did 86 once, but there was a strong tailwind.
Unfortunately, the increased power and heat output weakened some of the metal epoxy bonding the torque arms on one side of the frame. They started to shear off from the torque stress. Luckily I found the problem before the rear axel spun and snapped off at speed.
I've also decided that a bicycle helmet, shorts, t-shirt, and thongs is not appropriate for riding this silent pseudo-motorcycle. I've ordered some kevlar jeans and also shopping for a new full-face helmet. Acquired a plain black Casio G-Shock as my bike watch, my first digital since I was a little kid.
This thing is amazingly fun because it's completely silent, and you get get away with riding it anywhere. It does everything a small motorcycle can, but then you can take a shortcut through a bike path and completely blend in while enjoying the scenery. With a motorcycle you're stuck on the road with traffic almost 100% of the time. Silence + pedaling means that nobody takes notice, not even police.
An earlier revision of the bike (back when it still had bicycle handlebars) exploring some interesting local trails.
