I am down for this. Godspeed designing something based on all this input. I hope we don't all end up with the Homer car of watches.

Copy that - we'll do an avocado colored dial with teak inlays and a chrome-plated cushion case?

Close I’m going to 3d print the entire thing and use sistem 51 movements and use a minimal amount of metal in the entire watch.

This will be perfect for those of us who have to pass through magnetometers every day for work- good thinking!

So just a bump on this. I have not forgotten this project and I think I can make it happen.

How many people would be interested in the originally posted case within 35-36mm, black "gilt" dial, NH movement, no date for about $300? Here is the catch, It come with an entry level watch making kit and you have to assemble it yourself. I might be able to do it at the same price assembled as well.

I have not decided the complete dial options and hand choices.

I like the original watch idea. It's a nice size and look for the case. A gilt dial is sweet.

The put it together yourself idea sounds interesting, provided the instructions aren't by Ikea. I could use some tools, too.

The wierd logo is a little off-putting. Not sure why but it gives off a South African Aryan vibe, which is unsettling.

I'm 90% in, 10% more details.

For more design ideas: look up Longines watches from the mid 30's to the mid 40's. Great dials there as well .....

For some reason I missed this thread in March… I should say I’m in … but wish to see the final design to confirm ;-)

It looks lice a nice idea and potentially a nice looking watch. Would not have gone for it from someone else but coming from you here in OF I want to support this initiative. Keep us informed.

I've made a few watches for myself, I'll post pics later.

While it may seem a simple task of gathering case/movement/dial/hands etc and just assembling them, it can be a bit more complicated.
Movement to case fitting can be relatively easy if parts are chosen from suppliers who can confirm form/fit/function.
There can be issues with fitting hands and experience with broaching fragile hands (and having the correct tools) would be an advantage.

Forgot. Here is my first watch build.

And then there was a follow-up to that.

I'll get some pics of my Seiko builds later, I'm enjoying a beer at the moment.

I agree the design and looks should be yours rather than a jumbled conglomeration of forum suggestions. My only input is I'd be in if you offered the option of a Swiss movement for a few bucks more.

I'm in as well. Would be "nice" but not essential to have some sort of OF labelling if ok with Trev/Ash.
