So I (almost) Ruined A Christmas Present

As some may have seen before, I have been eyeing a Tudor GMT pretty hard for the last year now.
Almost bought a used one 6 months ago while making another purchase (not for me), but ended up walking on it.
Fast forward to this past weekend, I had just finished up doing some Xmas shopping so I was hiding some stuff in the closet.
Well, apparently my wife had hid something in the same spot I was planning on using.
So to my surprise there was a black Tudor box sitting right there...and yes of course I f****** opened it!
And there in all of its glory was a GMT on a bracelet.
Now I just got to work on my surprised face come Xmas morning! I of course have kept this to myself.
So moral of the story: if you talk about something incessantly to your significant other, there is a good chance they may just get if for you to shut you up lol.
So now my question is... how long do I wait before telling her all about a Polar 16570?

Oh man, that's too funny. That's her fault for hiding it there, lol. I would have looked in the box too. Congrats on the GMT, you're going to love it.

Well, to be fair my wife also tells me I act like a child sometimes...so I guess it is fitting hah.
But Feb 26th! Not enough time.

Nice wife. Mine would never enable my addiction.
She's fantastic. And not just because she buys me watches lol.
She cooks and cleans great too! 馃榿
Good lord imagine if she were to stumble across this thread. This is a safe space right? hah.
Seriously though shes the best.

you should jump up and down for joy like you are Buddy from elf!
(or like a 12 year old getting a new bike!)
then immediately hand her something that is nicer, you have the upper hand now, you cant let her win Christmas! you'll feel like a dolt if you hand her socks or something lame after getting a new Tudor!
hurry hurry, only a few shopping days left!

Agree 100%.
Don't practice working on your lies and the deception thing, turn it into an honesty and open communication thing! I wouldn't bring it up but I wouldn't hide any truths.

Definitely, most definitely, work on your deepest appreciation and true love thingy but I'd give my most puppy-dog apology for accidently hiding hers in the same spot, two hearts thinking as one!
You can play the little boy card when you explain why you opened it.

immediately hand her something that is nicer, you have the upper hand now
Agree except I wouldn't upstage her, I'd go with something thoughtful and nice but not tied to her gift.

Lol so apparently there is this thing called a Cartier love bracelet?
But she got a new bathroom this year (also another thread you all may have seen) so that was her big gift this year hah.

But yeah I'm probably going to have to tell her afterwords. She will probably think it is funny.
And I like the idea of getting her the E2. Hey babe, I got this for you, but can I borrow it today?

That is probably the one thing that would actually not go over well lol.

I'd admit it when you get to that one to open because you knowing about it didn't make it less of a surprise nor make you appreciate her any less.

So, I don't think you need to tell her you found it immediately. I can be something you can both laugh at later in the year. I do think you need to get her something nice - sorry, the bathroom project is nice, but not very romantic. What does she like? Jewelry? A matching watch? Diamonds? 馃榿

As for the polar, I think you should plant that seed mid-year so she'll have something to get you next Christmas!

Better run quickly. These suckers are sold out everywhere.
