My wife s gun, well her real gun is an MP5, but she thinks thats too dinkey.

Wowzer.

We have a Polaroid of my wife holding an MP5 (it's in her office at work.) When she was a student at Georgetown she applied for a part time job at the FBI giving tours. She was fresh out of 4 years in the Army and the guy giving the interview was an old agent waiting to retire. He asked her a couple questions then said, "you want to go to the range?" They went downstairs to the range and fired a bunch of FBI issued weapons. That was the interview.

When she got home, I met her at the door and asked, "Did you get the job?" She had a rolled up tube under her arm and handed me the tube and the Polaroid. I was pretty confused at first. The tube was her target, lots of center mass. I was so jealous. It was a pretty good part time job. I'll have to try to get a copy of the photo. Your wife's MP5 reminded me. I bet there's a good story behind her weapon of choice too.

That is so cool on so many levels.

If and "when" the SHTF, this is what you want.
5.56 and .300 BO and a butt-load of ammo.
"A butt load of ammo" I never thought of using my arsehole as a magazine.........I think I'll pass on that!

Keeps your ammo from tarnishing and maintains lubricity.

I have never been greatly impressed with the 9mm (9X19, Parabellum, Luger - whichever suffix you wish to attach to it). It's ho-hum, mundane, mediocre, and a bit tepid in my view. It can be said to be adequate, but has never impressed me when chronograph tested, gun rags, gun forums, and ammunition marketing lauding aside. Perhaps I have a prejudiced chronograph. I yet hold some old fashioned notions that include greater projectile weight and larger diameter than 9mm can provide as offering meaningful improved handgun cartridge effectiveness. I really like the 10mm and.45 ACP and feel that the .40 S&W is a worthwhile alternative to the grand old .45 ACP. Inside of 50 yards, those are the three that make me happy.

If a person likes his pistolas to hold "lots'a bullets" then 9mm will fill the bill, with many high-capacity 9mm handguns being marketed.

9mm offers the twin advantages of availability and economy. It's always available and can provide more practice rounds for the money than the larger handgun cartridges. Practice makes perfect so there is undeniable value to 9mm.

While we're at it, pontificating for fun and frolic, the excellent .38 Super, with its same bore diameter as 9mm, is everything the 9mm is cracked up to be, but isn't.

The 9mms on hand here are mostly for collecting or shooting entertainment.

Top row: A Spreewerk mfg. P.38 and a mongrel VoPo Luger
Middle row: FN High Power and a Star BM
Bottom row: 2nd generation Glock 17, CZ 75 BD, Colt Government Model

The Luger is the first 9mm pistol I ever acquired. The High Power is my very favorite. The CZ is the best shooting 9mm of the bunch and the only one I'm willing to carry. The Colt is very rewarding for 1911-gun fun on the cheap. The P.38 is innovative for its day and historical. The Star BM is as small and light as I want to go with a 9mm pistol (it pleasingly ain't light weight). The Glock is a specimen for study to try to learn what all the fuss is about with polymer, striker-fired pistols.

Two additional 9mms I'd love to add to the tribe are the SIG P210 and the Beretta 92.
I see you have one of those new fangled Lugers. Here's mine in 7.65x21.

I asked her about the photo and she said she put it in a drawer. I thought it was because the weapon might have made people uncomfortable, but she said no. Someone came in her office and asked, "Who is that?" That did it.

My beautiful bad-ass future bride.

Celebrating our 30th anniversary in a couple weeks.

Just grabbed this Wilson Combat "Adjuster" paddle holster on Saturday for $25.00 bucks! They're discontinued now, but retailed for $250.00.
Interesting holster, all suede lined made of Kevlar with shark covered panels on each side, it actually rides very low and comfortable too. The holster has 3 adjustment screws and creates a custom fit for anything from a Hi Power, 1911 up to a S&W 4506, my 4506 is the main reason I got it.

Picked up the G22 last week. I believe I mentioned it in my last post but it was actually a law enforcement trade in. The website warned that there would likely be signs of use, but I was very surprised to see that it was actually in good condition. Could use a bit of cleaning, but very happy with it. Now just have to find the time to go make sure it works!

Retired here, but I shared I just started working a couple of days a week at my LGS, the problem is, I get everything at cost.
Just got this "hard to come by" Sig Rattler Pistol 5.56 in yesterday, I don't know how long I can resist... guys, this is gonna be harder than I thought.
Of course, telling y'all is like telling your drug dealer you wanna stop doing drugs.

I need this 308/7.62 pistol AR from Springfield Armory, if I can ever find one. Have boatload of surplus 7.62 ammo just waiting. Have 308 AR, just seems the 308 pistol would be a hoot.

I have the Saint pistol in 5.56 and a Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW pistol in 300 Blackout. Now that the NFA tax stamp is gone as of Jan 1st, just biding my time till suppressors get pulled off the NFA, something like 14 states have already filed suit and once it hits the SCOTUS suppressors will have to be pulled. The killing of the stamp set this up.

Obviously a screen shot, but just put this on hold today till it's paid off in a couple weeks.
I've actually been wanting one, so it's not an impulse buy, right?

Yes, I'm certain of that. I already have two Browning's, one Belgium made/assembled and the other Belgium made Portugal assembled Gen 3; I've always wanted the SA version because it comes without the mag disconnect.

I've only ever owned one hi-power, and it was a rip off, an FEG-PJK 9HP. It was a great gun, I owned it for a couple of years, acquired a compact 1911 in 9mm and sold the FEG.
