And it's still coming down. The way I look at it is there are two benefits. First is a white Christmas which doesn't happen too often in this area, and second is the snow makes the yard look picturesque by covering up all the cigarette butts and beer cans
Mainly just ice in the DC area yesterday, and that is largely gone this morning. Thank you for taking all of the snow so we did not have to.
Just f...ing cold in chi town. Used to live high up on a lake in NW NJ ... we used to get buried. Pretty place though.
Good morning from Northern Michigan. I feel ya. I don't even know where to start and where to end - crazy beautiful in summers though.
Eh. In the city it's not a big deal. Maybe this year a bit less shoveling and salting of the sidewalks outside businesses because they're closed for the lockdown, but otherwise mostly the same - bodegas are open, restaurants are open, etc
I remember that car from NJ dragway ads as a kid. Sunday Sunday! Yea does the same for me. Prolly should have said Chicago-Land. I am told only transplants like me use Chi Town.
That is going to make my drive from JFK in a 35yr old Merc SL even more fun,,,,, look out for a woman selling a large vintage watch collection in the near future.
So did anyone do this as a kid? I did, both for pocket money and for free to help out elderly neighbours... I actually think the demise of this has more to do with snow blowers, but who knows. We have a kid that comes around to shovel in the big storms. Last year we had one with very heavy snow, and he came to the door, asked if we wanted him to do the drive. My wife asked how much, and he said whatever you want to pay me. Part way through she felt sorry for him doing it all by himself (we have a lot of driveway) so she went out to help.
