First, Snoopy moonSwatch must happen.
I wouldn't bet for a 55h anniversary though.

why not they did a 45th and 50th?

Because Omega's approach to Limited Edition watches has dramatically changed, and who really cares about a 55th anniversary?

I wonder if they just rerelease the 50th silver snoopy in a red color way for the 55th. Knowing Omega, it wouldnt surprise me. which if Im being honest, would actually be pretty fire.

Are any limited editions currently being sold or only limited production items like the SS 321?

I believe the last true 'limited edition' (numbered) Speedmasters were the two Apollo 11 50th versions back in 2019. Everything since, the 321 in steel, gold or platinum, and the Snoopy 50th, are the new 'limited production' jobs. That's why I'm suspicious of this new white dialled Speedmaster that's supposed to be introduced in March/April, I just don't think it's going to be a regular production item so when you waltz into a boutique you will have the simple choice of a black or white dialled watch.

Yes.... but the key difference is "edition" vs "production." Evitzee clarifies in his post just a few above that LE means numbered. I would agree with that 'strict' definition in the specific context of the Omega conversation.

But in the context of flipping it doesn't really matter does it, as some limited production trade at the same grey mark up or more.😗

What they should be working on is an entirely new watch, with a new modern movement instead of re-hashing Speedmasters. Something to rival their own Speedmaster! Fat chance.

Thats what the 3861 was... a modernization that brought the moonwatch up to METAS spec.

If you want anything else (like column wheel chrono or automatic) then look at the rest of the speedmaster line..

But I mean an entirely new watch - they've really milked the Speedmaster to death. Maybe not even a chrono, just something else equally COOL to the Speedmaster. They've got dive watches... maybe something like FPJ's Resonanc or Zenith's Defy or something we haven't even imagined yet.... a horologivcal innovation!

The Seamaster Professional is probably what most people would say is "equally cool" to the Speedy (or as close as possible). The reality is though, that you'd need more than just a cool new product to make something equal to the Speedy- there'd have to be some sort of social component or involvement that makes it cool.

Does not the Spirex version of the racing Speedmaster qualify as something new?

Have these even been released for sale yet? I don't think I've seen any real life wrist shots that weren't promos.
