I do not know if I am allowed to ask for help regarding authentication or watchco seamasters so please if i am doing anything wrong delete! I am trying to buy my second "vintage" omega and my first seamaster/vintage diver in general. I won this on the bay for 1500 and it looks strongly like the watch co one.
The square date window a dead give away for watchco Check out the date window on mine for the difference. Vintage ones the corners are rounded.
It has a non-screw down crown, so I don’t think it’s a “watchco”. It does have a service dial, with possibly painted lume to look like patina. I believe the bezel is an aftermarket/fake and the caseback looks wrong too, it’s too flat. The case doesn’t look quite right either and it’s badly polished anyway. I would walk away, fast.
“he bought it off eBay” does not add any information. You say the seller is willing to take $1,500, which is about half of the current value of a “watchco” and maybe 25% of a vintage one. Why do you think the price is so low?
So you committed to a legally binding contract and you're walking away? (I'm ignoring the fact that you bought a suspect watch without prior research).
https://omegaforums.net/threads/watchco-sm300.67786/#post-851088 Didn't you just say that you cancelled the transaction?
If you dont know what your doing, the odds of finding a bargain are slim to none. If you want to find a bargain, then spend time educating yourself first...then with this knowledge and after years of searching you just might get lucky and find a bargain. If you dont have patience, and aren't willing to spend the time to educate yourself first before buying then you're better off buying a lottery ticket. Buying first and asking latter is just stupid if you dont know what you are doing. Take the time and read these forums, look at images and wait until you have some knowledge before bidding. As a seller, there is nothing worse than dealing with fools who bid first and ask last. If you aren't prepared to pay for your mistakes you shouldn't be in the game. My .02
Well I’m posting here to study and learn. What’s the issue? I have NO aides about these. I know much more about vintage Rolex, Longines, and Chronographs. That’s why I’m asking help from the experts man
