I saw on the Watchbuys site that they would be unveiling a few new special editions shortly. I am hoping they have them at the NYC show. The 856 with a black dial and no numbers would be really nice. The numbers seem big

I was at the Sinn show in NYC today. I asked if they had a T2, and was told it is being phased out.

What did y'all think of their latest 6060 FAZ model? For a world timer it's pretty low-key and legible. The second crown really opens up what would otherwise be a pretty standard-looking sports watch.

Got a father/son set of 856 Sinn for Christmas. I got the utc and my son got the blue dial non utc. I forgot to take a picture of his but here is mine.

I enjoy my 103... Except for when I accidentally mix up AM and PM and the day/date starts to roll over in the middle of the day....

And then I get worried about messing up the movement by changing anything... So I wait a good thirty minutes to let it do its thing...

So slow...

Love the Sinn, here are my two:

I have a small issue with the 142. I was winding it and the crown separated from the stem, not repairable. It’s been impossible to get a replacement crown without sending the watch to RGM or Sinn (they won’t just send the part) so I had my watchmaker place a temporary non-Sinn crown while I sort it out. This is my biggest frustration with Sinn.

Your frustration is misplaced. Sinn will sell parts to independent watchmakers - I have been to the Sinn factory in Frankfurt, walked up to the service counter, and bought parts right from the brand without any fuss at all.

However Sinn won't sell parts directly to any customer in North America, because their distributor Watchbuys (WB) has the rights for distributing all Sinn products. WB then act as the final gatekeepers for things like parts, and they have told me that they don't sell to everyone who asks.

I have bought parts through WB for brands that they have control over - Sinn several times and I just received a shipment of Fortis parts they I bought through them. It does take time though, as the process is very slow in comparison to what I'm used to. In this instance I started asking for prices from WB in late October of last year, and the parts arrived Jan 2nd so a little over 2 months.

In contrast I can buy parts directly from Nomos in Germany and have them here in 2 weeks. And of course with Omega I can order from them and have parts in my shop the next day, but that's partly due to the fact they have stock here in Canada. I don't think WB stocks any parts, and they only order from Sinn at set times, so your parts order will wait until they place a regular order (understandable but still frustrating for my customers).

You’re probably right about that. I’ve been on a many month journey trying to sort this out. I’m in the Seattle, Washington area and contacted many watchmakers, including my wonderful local guy, who were unable to obtain the part. It’s possible I just haven’t found the right place yet. Then I contacted Sinn customer service directly, they recommended talking with Watch Buys, who then referred me to RGM. After multiple attempts to contact RGM, I finally heard back, but they want the watch in hand before giving an estimate for crown replacement, which I understand. Then there are the RGM reviews that are concerning to me and the 3-4 month turn around that make me hesitate to send it to them. I thought if I could source the part, I’d bring it my watchmaker so he could fix it. With WB having total control, it limits options for repair.

Thanks for the insight, it’s helpful to get a glimpse behind the curtain.
