Anyone want a Mitsubishi dial/handset and a Seiko MarineMaster? I’m considering doing something drastic 😬 😂

My phone always autocorrects that. What you said a few posts ago is ringing true 😂 95% of their watches are nice but that 5%… That LE that David shared a few posts ago is stuck in my mind.

Oh no! A Marinemaster you can track down again, but just imagine how hard it will be to find another Mitsukoshi set again 😲

Wait! I figured it out! We buy it together and we trade off quarterly.

I'm still really torn on this 156.1 or EZM 1.1 S dilemma, which is is compounded by the 156.1 being a low batch limited edition that may sell out very soon.

Pics I stole from Reddit:

Promo pics of the EZM:

They both seem like they'd great fun for 'mission timers', which in my case is timing stuff at work, in the kitchen, and managing my kid's screen time...

The EZM is a bit more brutalist and I can pretend that my meal prep is some sort of special ops affair... The 156.1 is a little better proportioned on the wrist and might be better for everyday wear...

Man, talk about inconsequential first world problems.

I love both of those, but I am ready to empty out my parts bin for that 156.1.

The only thing that brings me any sort of pause is it is a large watch. Primarily the lug to lug is quite long. My 7” wrist is flat, so it can handle a large case just fine but I feel the ends of the lugs would be just at the edge of my wrist with that one.

I've got a crop of 3 Sinn currently, it was 4 until earlier this evening when I swapped my 104 St Sa W for a lovely CW Aquitaine.
So with the 104 gone, I'm down to 3;
103 Military Type 4 LE 1/200
U2-W LE & last but not least my,
U2-SDR I have an additional bezel for this that lets me swap between the black & stainless bezel for a "2nd" watch

You might be the only person that can relate to how much that exact thought is occupying my mind right now. Also, you’d be the only person I can say dibs to in the event you get one.

I did the deed. ::facepalm1::

You're at the top of the list of I end up moving it along. 😀

In the end, I decided that my 103 is too similar to the EZM 1.1 in form factor and countdown bezel. And, if I'm not willing to unload the 103 (which I apparently am not), I can wait and see if I still really want the EZM later (they keep coming up for sale every 1-2 months. I suspect people just don't end up liking how chunky it is).

My problem, deeply, truly, is I never sell any of the good stuff. This ought to force me to part with something I really like but that sits in the safe 99% of the time.

It has arrived!

First impressions are:

Things I like:
  • the colors and the proportions
  • bidirectional friction bezel (no detent)
  • the date window design. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but I do.

Things I love:
  • Central minutes chronograph
  • Drilled lugs
  • tegimented bezel with a lume pip (we'll see how it fares in its first doorjamb encounter)
  • It's 156 that I can risk getting wet

Things I don't love:
  • sinn's h-link bracelet is meh - feels bulky and the big blocky links seem like they don't match the rest of the design.
  • it is not a small watch. Works for me, but definitely room for concern if you're the type that really worries about wrist-to-watch ratios.

Things I really don't love:
- needing tiny hex keys to resize the bracelet. I was super lucky that I had two very tiny metric keys around (from my archery gear). I almost had to take a trip to the hardware store.

That is one incredibly good looking piece! It has an excellent wrist presence and fit your wrist well! I love it and will definitely be adding this to my list of one day purchases. It looks like it wears much better than the specs suggest.

Wrist presence is the definitely the operative phrase. It's not as bad as my Sinn 103 but it is still large even on my 8" wrist. The shape of the lugs also helps, compared to the sort of stubbier lugs on the 103, 104, and some of the EZMs. Definitely could be an issue depending people's preferences.

Works for me though! But even for me, it's a big, bulky bracelet. I might see about finding a rubber strap for it...

First
date window sort of reminds me of this watch which also exposes the dates

another german brand.

Second

Third

Thanks! I'm still in love with it. I've pretty much been wearing nothing but this since it arrived.

I really thought the date window would bother me, but I've grown to like it. 1) It balances out the dial a bit 2) the watch is already very busy, so why not a bit visual clutter? 3) It subtly reminds me that I should be thinking about tomorrow 4) if you're an aviation nerd, I bet you'd enjoy it even more than me.

And, yes, I do like archery! Actually, after I financially recover from this, I mean to upgrade my recurve rig and start competing again - been on a long hiatus since my kid was born.

A friend of mine calls my U2-W on white silicon combo the "Stormtrooper" because it always misses 😂
I disagree, I think it works great particularly as a summer combo.
