Silver Snoopy Woes

Is there a likelihood that Omega will release another iteration of the Silver Snoopy Speedmaster Professional in 2025? Looking to buy the current one but I’m not sure when is a good time to get it. The prices have dropped rather significantly since the high of 2022 and have remained fairly stable in the grey market. Also considering getting from the boutique (I just need to get one more watch like a regular Seamaster Diver 300 to qualify).

lt also seems fairly easy to get these watches now but I genuinely wonder whether they’ll discontinue them and/or introduce a new version in 2025? Also curious about your thoughts on whether the price will come down. The watch is after all not a limited edition.

Just to add that I’m not looking to flip this watch but would like to add it to my collection and keep it.

Zero chance of a Silver Snoopy iteration in 2025.

There is a slim chance of an Apollo-soyuz 50th anniversary.

Prices of Snoopys will continue to slowly drop.

No chance of a 55th Snoopy. Prices for the 50th will stabilize long term 10-15% above MSRP, around $11,700 to $12,700. But that's a few years out.

Or not.

I think 50th won't be discontinued as long as demand is high. Highly unlikely a 55th.

Demand is still high, the OB says it'll happen in 2025. We shall see.

Still be made until the end of 2025 me thinks… be another one in 2030 me thinks….

Don’t think they will go much lower than what they are now.

⬆️ This is not how it works with a watch they stopped taking names 2 years ago. You may get one someone passed up…but it’s not a Rolex buy to get one.

The are one the last year of making them…so if I was you I would get one now….if Omega says in three weeks that it’s it at the end of the year they will go up a little and people won’t be selling due to FOMMM (fear of missing more money) 😉

Stopped taking names? Since when? My OB has a list and when they get one they call until there's a taker. I was offered a 321 on NYE but passed on it.

For a snoopy? My ad stopped taking names like 2 years ago. They said they still have over 100 people on the list and get maybe 3 watches a year at this point.

Given that the watch market has slowed quite a bit the last 2 years, it would be wise for Omega to keep producing S50's to keep sales up.

The key question is, how long is that list? Dealing with a small market like Nashville, the list might be very short. But I don't think Omega is sending Snoopys to OBs as part of normal business, they are sending them to those that have made full deposits years ago. So you might get the call if someone on the full paid list decides to pass, but that is a thin reed to hang your hopes on to get one this year. It does appear Snoopy production is winding down after almost five years since it was first teased. I still believe if one really wants a Snoopy now you have to go to the grey market, there are plenty available. You only live once.

Short enough that there's a good possibility. But I don't want one bad enough to pay over retail.

I've either visited on contacted just about every boutique here in the western U.S. Not a single one have an open list for the silver snoopy.

I just got mine a few weeks ago, and really enjoying it, in real life, the dial being silver and the proportions, the whole thing is more intricate than in photos and fits my wrist very well also, wears alot better than its specs I would say. This is also my first Omega purchase, I have no purchase history. Took 4+ years of being on the waitlist.

Last year, I managed to get one of the 1-day limited edition Moonswatches with the gold seconds hand and wearing actually gave me an appreciate for the case shape. Then Trump won, and seeing how much he loves crypto and last time it seems the crypto bros were a non-insignificant factor in driving up prices past few years, so I figured that I wouldn't lose in picking it up. I know many purists hate this line of thinking, but hey, I live in the real world. I have limited income and love watches so my personal policy for adding a watch is that it should be at the very least a break-even on resale. (and I will track the "portfolio" over time and keep it net positive overall).

If you can get on a list with just one more purchase and they will allocate it to you, i would say that you just do it. Because of these factors above and some others on the thread have indicated that it will end up net positive, so you have nothing to lose if you don't like it.

In terms of your "fairly" easy, I know that no OB in Canada will put you on a list either, so would be curious to ask about where you're located?

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts - and also thank you to everyone above for the insightful responses! I am based in Singapore and have a single watch purchase history (2024 FOiS Bracelet, Ref: 310.30.40.50.06.001) with the OB.
Based on the responses above, the following seem apparent:
1. Unlikely for another iteration of the Silver Snoopy for 2025
2. Omega would likely continue with the production for the 50th Anniversary Silver Snoopy as demand remains high
3. Grey market prices of the 50th Anniversary Silver Snoopy would stabilise at 10-15% above MSRP
4. Still a good idea to purchase the 50th Anniversary Silver Snoopy this year from the OB

I just need to figure out what other watch I should purchase in the 5.5-6k USD range to get a shot at buying the Snoopy. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Seamaster Diver 300m (Ref: 210.32.42.20.01.001). I like the watch but perhaps not enough to want to make me keep it. Buying this watch and immediately selling it (unworn with box and papers) to the grey market would easily incur a 2.2k USD loss as well!

Why buy a watch in the $6k range in order to get a shot at a Snoopy? It's not likely going to work, and why waste your money like that? Just go grey, buy either a lightly used Snoopy (with all boxes and paperwork) or buy a BNIB one and be done with it. Keep it simple.

Interestingly, the sales associate at the OB said I just needed to get something in the 6k range and she’ll allocate me the Snoopy. I was quite shocked as it seems rather easy to get one. Currently, the Silver Snoopy in Singapore is going for 11.2k USD at MSRP and about 3.5k USD more in the grey market (most are BNIB while the used ones are about 2.5k USD more than MSRP). All things considered, getting a Seamaster at MSRP and selling it immediately (at a 2.2k USD loss) to get the Snoopy at MSRP would still (ironically) save me some money as opposed to getting it straight form the grey market.

I guess one other option is to wait for used Snoopy in the grey market that is reasonably priced (eg a 1k above MSRP)?

Why would you hang your hopes on what a sales associate tells you about getting a Snoopy? The goal of every associate is to sell watches, if they can con you into believing that if you buy a $6k watch from them now they will allocate a Snoopy for you later, it's a win for them and you have ZERO assurance they will ever get a Snoopy for you. I just don't see the point of buying a watch you don't really want or need at retail and then turning around and selling it at a loss in the belief a Snoopy will be produced for you later. This is a trick dealer's have played for years. You are putting your faith in the sales associate whose main goal is to sell you a watch, any watch. If you pursue this strategy you are likely to be disappointed.
