Silver Snoopy Woes

You make a good point and I do have my doubts about what the sales associate said as well. She’s been nice and all but ultimately, this is business and you’re right that her goal is to sell as many watches as possible.

Unless she can provide a Snoopy at the same time you buy a Seamaster, I wouldn't take her that seriously.

Buy the 5-6k watch if you love it. Don't buy it with the hopes of it leading to an aquisition on a high demand low availabilty model. Do the latter and you'll most likely wind up disappointed or annoyed.

Don't buy watches you don't want to have a "chance" to get a watch you want. You buy what they tell you to buy and 6 months from now this sales associate won't even be working for Omega anymore.

Yall make a good point! I think I’ll wait for the grey prices to come down a little before getting the Snoopy. I see a couple now in the grey market and they seem somewhat hard to sell. And if I really wanted a Seamaster Diver 300m, it would just make sense to get it on the grey and save almost 2k USD for a brand new one.

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts - and also thank you to everyone above for the insightful responses! I am based in Singapore and have a single watch purchase history (2024 FOiS Bracelet, Ref: 310.30.40.50.06.001) with the OB.
Based on the responses above, the following seem apparent:
1. Unlikely for another iteration of the Silver Snoopy for 2025
2. Omega would likely continue with the production for the 50th Anniversary Silver Snoopy as demand remains high
3. Grey market prices of the 50th Anniversary Silver Snoopy would stabilise at 10-15% above MSRP
4. Still a good idea to purchase the 50th Anniversary Silver Snoopy this year from the OB

I just need to figure out what other watch I should purchase in the 5.5-6k USD range to get a shot at buying the Snoopy. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Seamaster Diver 300m (Ref: 210.32.42.20.01.001). I like the watch but perhaps not enough to want to make me keep it. Buying this watch and immediately selling it (unworn with box and papers) to the grey market would easily incur a 2.2k USD loss as well!
disagree on #2 though and on #3, yes but I think the given the next 4 years of Trump, while 15% might be right given a 20 year timeframe, next 4 years, I'd think more than 15% actually. #4 its all about you haha I'm happy I did it, but i never had any purchase history and never had a speedmaster (except swatch one) so its a whole new area for my collection

I’m noticing that the price of new ones (unworn) is dropping and down to sub 15k. But I am first on the list for it from my OB, and I’m hoping it happens this year. Msrp is better than paying 4-5 k to someone who is flipping it.I don’t know if I’m on the list because I bought the two new 3861s last year or not.

You make a good point - I’ve actually started noticing grey market prices dropping for this watch. Perhaps it might come to a point where the flippers would realise it doesn’t make any sense to flip this watch! Great news for folks like us who genuinely want to get a Snoopy and keep it as a collector’s piece.

Exactly. I really want it but don’t want to pay someone extra. Like a Daytona. I’d gladly pay msrp for a steel one, but not up front and wait for years.

Great advice here. I have so far bought my watches on secondary market or discounted brand new watch from dealer because I do not fit the profile of luxury watch plus watch depreciation. Buying pre-owned snoopy makes sense since limited edition watch purchase in luxury brand business will entail previous buying history and waiting time for the hope of allocation (to lock in continued sales).

Pre-owned snoopy makes no sense, because they are all still over original retail price. I don't want one that badly.

The key question is, how long is that list? Dealing with a small market like Nashville, the list might be very short. But I don't think Omega is sending Snoopys to OBs as part of normal business, they are sending them to those that have made full deposits years ago. So you might get the call if someone on the full paid list decides to pass, but that is a thin reed to hang your hopes on to get one this year. It does appear Snoopy production is winding down after almost five years since it was first teased. I still believe if one really wants a Snoopy now you have to go to the grey market, there are plenty available. You only live once.
Just got the call, have it Saturday. She said they were not expecting it.

Congrats! Enjoy! Going with the strap or picking up the bracelet, too?

I definitely prefer it on the bracelet (3861 for me) - just fits great.

I have two of those plus the new FOIS and I like the flat link. But I do like bracelet more than strap.

Based on the fact they did a 45th, why wouldn't they do a 55th?

They stopped doing Apollo anniversaries: no A15 50th, no A17 50th, no A11 55th.

Omega have tried to move away from the Limited edition business model especially for speedmasters, they now do 'limited releases' so less production numbers (Snoopy, EW, Soleil dial and white dial), so you are right its not totally out the question they celebrate it but with the pairing down of the offering compared to every year multiple LE's being released, there was a thread a while ago of the important dates and possible speedmaster releases for the next few years. Hopefully they do some more LE's.
