Going to need some help on this one...NO IDEA what it is. Been around forever...
Thanks for any insight.
It is a Voigtlaender, which was a very reputable German camera and lens manufacturer, folder, probably 6x7 film. The lens is an Anastigmat, not the highest level of lens, which is has its own lovely signature. It has a very interesting distance setting/suggestion with the group, portrait levers.
I am not sure about the shutter type.
After a CLA you can have fun with it.
I love the look of vintage cameras but have never used one.
I got the black RCAF marked one serviced to give it a go but never got round to it.

Michael……if the Leica has been serviced, & is now fully operational………You simply have to take it out sometime, and shoot some film
(I deeply covet that camera…)
Leica lenses are enchanting to use...…the contrast will blow you away ….even the older, softer glass seriously outperforms their contemporaries
Let us know how you get on ?…and post some images from the camera please ?
I hope to give it a go some day but all those settings put me off, I need to sit down and study these things.
Do you need a light meter? It looks pretty complicated.
Cheers, Michael
Hello Michael
You are in Yorkshire - I am in Manchester, but I tutor University Students in Leeds regularly....Ran a Creativity 'Day School' there, last weekend
Give me a shout, when you feel like trying the camera one weekend - I'll drive over with my own Leica and we cam meet up, to 'test run' yours.....lightmeters are for amateurs.....you will soon get a natural feel for the right exposure, and handling the camera
A few 'moody' landscapes of Yorkshire ? .....in Monochrome ?.....You will be blown away by the quality of Leica glass
Knowing your impeccable stock of watches.....I will probably buy something as well !!
