It is a Voigtlaender, which was a very reputable German camera and lens manufacturer, folder, probably 6x7 film. The lens is an Anastigmat, not the highest level of lens, which is has its own lovely signature. It has a very interesting distance setting/suggestion with the group, portrait levers.
I am not sure about the shutter type.
After a CLA you can have fun with it.

Thanks! That was fast! I'd never use it sadly. I should probably find out what its worth so I can give it a new home.
Just happened to stumble on this post and thought about it. Seems older than many on eBay.

Sadly most of the folders are not worth that much anymore. Have a look at the Certo66 website.

I love the look of vintage cameras but have never used one.
I got the black RCAF marked one serviced to give it a go but never got round to it.

Michael……if the Leica has been serviced, & is now fully operational………You simply have to take it out sometime, and shoot some film

(I deeply covet that camera…)

Leica lenses are enchanting to use...…the contrast will blow you away ….even the older, softer glass seriously outperforms their contemporaries

Let us know how you get on ?…and post some images from the camera please ?

just like watches...its an obsession.

I shot with a IIIf for years...they take great images.
The early ones are not easy to focus, and its two separate (and tiny) windows, one for framing and one for focus.

Takes standard 35mm film, so give it a shot...you might become addicted.

I hope to give it a go some day but all those settings put me off, I need to sit down and study these things.
Do you need a light meter? It looks pretty complicated.
Cheers, Michael

Hello Michael

You are in Yorkshire - I am in Manchester, but I tutor University Students in Leeds regularly....Ran a Creativity 'Day School' there, last weekend

Give me a shout, when you feel like trying the camera one weekend - I'll drive over with my own Leica and we cam meet up, to 'test run' yours.....lightmeters are for amateurs.....you will soon get a natural feel for the right exposure, and handling the camera

A few 'moody' landscapes of Yorkshire ? .....in Monochrome ?.....You will be blown away by the quality of Leica glass

Knowing your impeccable stock of watches.....I will probably buy something as well !!

Could we do this when the weather gets a bit brighter please?
I will PM you my number so we can keep in touch.
All the best, Michael

I missed this thread, here's my IIIc still working though not always as designed and of course dependent on a very amateur photographer.

My Nivada on a vintage Kodak Folder that I bought just because it looked nice, even if it will never be used as a camera.
