Finally got my mitts on it. Spa treatment restored it to "as new" as far as I can tell:

Looks great! Congrats on getting it.

I was too busy enjoying the eclipse to take a cool watch photo. Here's my 2254 in front of a crappy photo I took a few hours ago:

Hi team,

I finally got around to trying a Forstner's Oyster on my 2254. I wanted to like this a lot. I love the Oyster on subs and other Rolly's, but for my tastes it doesn't seem to work on the 2254. I think the brushed surface, devoid of any polishing, takes it down a notch from the OEM bracelet. The fit and heft are also below what I'm used to. I think this will be removed, never to use it again on my Peter Blake.

What say you?

I say, I totally agree with you, the 2254 needs that extra little bit of shine on the bracelet.

And the brushing on the Forstner bracelet is coarser than the brushing on the 2254?

And the links on the Forstner are bigger and more tool`y and "agricultural" (I saw that word used on BSA vs Triumph motorcycles) than the Speedy bracelet? Maybe that`s why it fits the Rollys so well, they are more slab sided and agricultural than the 2254.

So if the 2254 is to be dressed down , a black Nato is the way to go. I like the transition from black dial to black Nato.

"Yes" on all counts hen. I wouldn't expect a $175 bracelet to have the finishing an Omega bracelet does. FWIW, the bracelet is fine, it's just not for me. I thought it would give me a different look, comparable to a 16610 appearance but it fell short.

As for the relaxed look, I like a single pass Maratac:

Hmm am I the only one posting in this excellent tread?

Just fixed the safety equipment on the milling machine, these things always seem to be after thoughts. Fastened with 2 M5 screws with 3 treads each in grip, nov its 2 M6 with 4 treads each. Great success! As Borat would have said.

Only desk diving today. Endlinks on the 1610 bracelet were a pain to remove for some reason! 🫨
The Artem sailcloth with deployant went on so easily.

Nice!

This watch is a real strap monster.
