Omega's moonphase watches are so nice! I wish they made a smaller version one as well

What ref/year is this speedy from? That lume is fantastic
Yeah, that one was a looker for sure. I’ll share some more photos I had taken of it. It’s a 145.022 from ‘84. Some distinguishing characteristics of it from this year were the long S & R

And the short tail in the letter Q

There were two case makers in this time of the names CRS and ADB. This one was made by ADB, as noted by the Fir tree at the top of the base back.

It was a very clean watch and regrettably one I sold a while ago.

I really appreciate you sharing additional photos, I had no idea Speedmaster lume could patina this color. It's pretty much perfect, and might send me down a dangerous road of looking at 1983 speedies!!

To add: Just picked up my first (likely not my last) Speedmaster today- a 1863 with the "big box" (straps, tools, loupe, books). I'd been debating trading my first gen SM300 MCC, and had gone back and forth on whether or not to get the current gen 3861 or the prior gen. I dropped my SM300 by a local watchmaker in Portland, and when I swung by to pick it up, he'd actually received a 1863. Freshly serviced, and I was able to work out a reasonable trade-in deal for my Seamaster.

This older bracelet definitely isn't as bad as I was led to believe (I know a few people favor it), but I have tried on the 3861 bracelet and I think I prefer that one (and may eventually pick one up). That said, I'll probably pick up a black leather saffiano strap from Aaron/combat-straps soon!

Quick question for you speedy pro pros- Confirming: the Apollo 11 50th anniversary (ref:
310.20.42.50.01.001) bracelet fits the 1861/1863? How do people like the A11 bracelet vs. the current 3861 bracelet?

Thanks all.

Congratulations on your new 1863!

If you are having a problem getting your 1861/1863 bracelet to fit well with the limited micro adjustment range, I highly recommend the 1861 half-link available from Uncle Straps. It’s really amazing! I now wear my 1861 on the stock bracelet almost every day - perfect fit and super comfortable.

Also, I personally have no problem with the “clunky” clasp or the lug-to-clasp taper, two other issues often cited. Enjoy!

Thanks, I appreciate it. The bracelet currently fits well, but it's good to know that US has a half-link available. The bracelet isn't uncomfortable, but I have grown accustomed to the current gen SM heritage flat link, which is more comfortable. I'm considering picking up an A11 50th bracelet for this 1863 under the assumption it will feel a bit like the SM heritage bracelet. Need to do some more research before I pull the trigger, though.

Super happy with it!
