Being the 5th and the one year anniversary it had to be worn (though for mine it’s only ten months). Those that are waiting do hang in there cos it will be worth it and I pray you all get them soon!

These meteorite dials are making me wonder, extremely hypothetically: what if (somehow) you could get a 321 105.003 reissue with actual moon rock sub dials or even the whole dial. It'd be like a billion dollars, but it would be cool lol

I took mine out for a spirited sports car drive on the Sonoma Coast today. We then stopped for a seafood lunch and buffalo milk soft serve ice cream in at the Palace Market in Point Reyes Station, CA.

First Speedy. Heck, first Omega.

Was on a passive hunt for the new "reduced" until I tried on the 2021 sapphire sandwich in the OB. Fell in love and had to take him home.

Guess I'm a Speedy guy after all.

more than expensive, it’d be illegal

unless you were just speaking of lunar meteorites

This is true, but the lunar meteorites would be good enough.

Though, I do believe it's only a matter of (not very much) time before a privately funded lunar mission brings back moon rock and sells it...

the only legally sold lunar rocks went to auction a few years back for ~$900k for like 0.0007 ounces - they were three teeny tiny pebbles brought back from something like an early (60’s) Russian lunar lander and auctioned out of the estate of the former Russian space program head (or some such Russian tomfoolery)

Enough material then for even one sub-dial, as you say, might be pricey.

That said, an interesting quandary of law is arising as a result of the increase in commercial space flights - and it needs address soon!

I agree, and I suspect it'll be a mess (the legal battle).

Since we're on the topic of hypotheticals: would you rather have a watch as I've described (with moon rock sub dials or the whole dial) or would you rather have (assuming you could legally acquire it) Aldrin's missing Speedy?? 🍿

It's a wonder I sleep at all at night
