·The radial bezel design was produced for NASA astronauts between 1970-1978, adorned atop the coveted Alaska prototype watches. The bezel design was never put into production, and survives only in a handful of government and private collections. Until now. Inspecting nearly piece of evidence available, I was able to faithfully recreate the original design down.
Check out my RADIALPROJECT.com for more info. I will plan to offer these (just the inserts I made) up in the near future to recoup the cost of this prototype! How did I make it? I had the ring machined out of aluminum to match the size of the original, and then had the bezel anodized just like the original.
