Wow! Got more pics of this beauty? What a cool mod.

Does the PO bezel naturally fit this model or was a fair amount of work needed?

This is out in Whytecliff park on the coast of Vancouver BC Canada. It is a protected saltwater marine area so there is an abundance of marine life under the waves. There is also a well known Giant Pacific Octopus about 20 feet down following the rocks on the way out on the right that is always a goal to see when we go under. It is a world class cold water diving location and I’d recommend it for new or experienced divers!

@JasonF thanks for the info, I’ll look that up. How cold was the water? It sounds very fun and interesting! I was supposed to go to Vancouver back before Covid to go on an Alaskan cruise but never made it. Hopefully in the future.

New Planet Ocean end of June this year. Officially "baptized" July 8, Orient Beach French St. Martin, FWI. No, that is not my catamaran in the background!

Is that your boat in the background? 🙄
lol I intended to go back and replace that photo with one where the watch was in focus, i added the wrong one from my phone and noticed it later... but by then the damage was done 😀

We were out on my father-in-law's lobster boat.

In the fall and winter you should definitely wear a dry suit, in the summer you can get away with a wet suit. You should absolutely go - you won’t be disappointed!

Spent this morning diving a wreck - a sunken car ferry that accidentally sank a while ago. Went down to 32m, penetrated inside to the second story car deck, was pitch black.

The PO came along, safe on a grey NATO and used it to time the dive (alongside my dive computer, obviously…).

Any interesting vehicles in there?

The coolest is definitely the captain’s car, a Lada that was aboard when she sank, the green paint has held up pretty well. This is the best photo I got:

When it sank everyone was evacuated and there was time to save valuables, etc. There was a lorry carrying a load of frozen meat yet to be butchered. You can see all the bones scattered across the deck and in the lorry, there’s a common story told to tourists that the boat sank with horses aboard who drowned - thankfully not the case.

There’s also a cool conspiracy that the ship was carrying a cargo of weapons to Syria, to then be transported to Lebanon / Hezbollah to use against Israel (she sank in the late-80s). Some claim that Mossad sank the ship and then dived to recover the evidence. I didn’t see them but apparently there is a cargo of very long, empty wooden crates; considering the rest of the cargo is intact it led to the spreading of the conspiracy!
