This is the second video in this series, and yes 3 weeks is the closest together we've ever released two videos lol.

Hope you guys enjoy it and please like, subscribe and comment as it helps us: The 18K Planet Ocean Chronograph Calibre 9301 - The Thickest Gold Omega Ever Made

The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph In 18K Solid Red Gold is the thickest gold Omega watch ever made at a massive 19.4 mm thick and 45.5 mm wide. Yet this beast, the reference 232.63.46.51.01.001 fits beautifully on the wrist, even with merely a leather strap.

These watches were astonishingly expensive when new, but prices have come down sufficiently that they now roughly match current ceramic Planet Ocean Chronographs, making these special watches an extremely compelling option.

And now I want it
It’s worth noting that this one was bought for around $12k USD locally which is about a grand under the price of the ceramic Calibre 9900 models currently on offer new, and at this point I would say this generation is fully depreciated. It is slightly thicker than the Cal 9900 version though too if that bothers you.

I assumed it would cost way more given the materials and build. Well done on the vid

Well done on the video.
I own the simpler version. Easily the most comfortable gold sport. I didn’t have the patience to break-in the croc straps on deployment, so went with a green leather on buckle.

This was a wonderful video both in storytelling and production! I would love to see this channel grow both with content and subscribers (for which I am one :) ).

Planet Ocean Chronograph in 18K gold which is a remarkably photogenic piece
You were definitely right with this! I was actually surprised to see just how photogenic this piece is. As I said in my YouTube comment, it was awesome to see all the wear it has accumulated. It’s cool to see that it’s actually worn and IMO, it looks even better with all the wear. That dial is also something else! You were right in that the text and logo look like it’s floating. Depending on the light, the dial just looks like a void, and it really is incredible!

Thanks for creating this content and presenting how you do. I look forward to what is to come and I hope you have fun creating it  :)

Cool will check it out.

Where in Brissy are you mate
South Brisbane not far from the CBD just on the other side of the Victoria bridge really. If you’re nearby I’d love to film some of your favourites some time especially the ones that are unusual or good value used buys.

Thanks for making this! I know from experience how much work goes into crafting even a short video, but a video like this shows us so much more than pictures or a write-up can. It's also nice seeing these sorts of shots from a watch that's been worn, versus the unrealistically pristine visuals in official marketing videos and photos.

How'd you rig the watch to spin for the shots of the rotor? To me, that's the type of shot that looks easy to do, but is tricky to get aligned properly in reality.

It’s a pretty cool robotic rig, the camera is pretty old and outdated but the rest of the setup is pretty cool, lets me move the watch and camera independently or together on many different axes of motion.

That looks super fun to play with. We have one of those robotic 'second shooter' rigs for timelapses, but don't get to use it that often. I hadn't thought about using it for product videography.
