Sitting at home on a cool autumn afternoon here in my part of the world and a thought just hit me: there isn't yet a thread on this forum dedicated to this often underrated model in Omega's line up. So let's get the ball rolling:

This 2551.80 was purchased new from an AD in 2005. It's been a solid, reliable workhorse over the years and been with me for all my life's major milestones like my wedding and the birth of my kids so it's kinda special to me. As I have small wrists, I find that it fits me perfectly.

Do you have a Seamaster Pro midsize as well? If so, which version and what do you like/dislike about it? Anything special about it?

Look forward to your responses and have a great day!

This is a 2552.61, a model that was specially manufactured with a red dial by Omega for the Marui department stores in Japan.

My wife uses hers as a beater (she is an upholsterer) and likes it a lot. She has a Datejust and a Cartier Pasha but uses the Seamaster 99% of the time.

Here on vacation on Ireland last summer together with my beater "Watchco (not put together by Watchco but here in Sweden by a reputable watchmaker).

That looks amazing. Such a unique piece. It's ahead of its time given the recent craze for brightly coloured dials.

Didn't know Omega made a midsize Seamaster Pro with sword hands. As they say, you learn something new every day.

Take care of that one - Omega no longer has replacement dials, so if it gets damaged, it will have to be redialed.

I have no problem wearing larger watches but for some reason when I wear my skx007 I’ve gotten a couple comments and people think it’s a Rolex. I also think it’s smart to buy watches with two crowns, midsize or not, cause if one crown breaks the watch is useless so for now on I’m only buying watches with two crowns minimum, seems prudent

Picked this up on Thursday in an auction, came with the original 932 bracelet but it's a bit small and had no spare links, so stuck it in this NATO style strap... I've been wearing some mid size watches recently and I really like the 2252.50 but I'm not sure it's big enough for my wrist, maybe I should have got the 2254.50. It's lovely though, I love the face and the sword hands.

My midsize SMPc on my 6.25" wrist.
Thanks for sharing. Didn't know that this generation Seamaster Pro came in a midsize as well. Is the bezel ceramic?

My midsize:

I’ve also got the full size 2531.80, which I now wear more, but there is something charming about the midsize. It’s underrated for sure!

My preference is the full size but for me the mid size also suits well and is pretty understated with less likelihood of the bezel getting a knock. Pictured here beside the chrono “daddy of them all” version!!
