I just collected my 1973 MD198.0031 yesterday, after a full service as well as new crown, crystal, case tube, stem and seals....
Service cost no doubt outweighs any sale value but this will never be sold.... it was bought new by my father-in-law,
eventually left in a desk drawer for about 35 years until passed on to me earlier this year....
Wow that looks just like my Grandfather's Omega that I recently inherited. I'm trying to learn more about it, anything else you know about it?

First post although long time lurker who has yielded to the bug this year and bought a couple of watches. Nowhere in the class of some of the collections posted I’ll happily admit.
Attached is my hummer. The first of a few I suspect, with the connection to my profession a nice personal touch. Later maybe an Accutron 2210 for an A440 watch.

I posted this 198.020 last week in the "under $500" thread, a piece I helped a friend find and pay for (his first Omega, and first real watch of any sort). Love it so much that I told him I will buy it from him anytime he says the word. I've only had mechanical Omega but the cloak & dagger story behind these movements is fascinating. The chunky indices surprised me in person, really 70's chic!

More pics of that IWC please!

Good idea.

IWC 3402 back on its original strap for the photo shoot.

Pre service

Don't know if this adds or subtracts but I've watched some clips and the man was a class act.

Bought this one for my dad as he was struggling to keep his yacht club wound. My mum banned it from the bedroom after one night and from the house after three days, her hearing aid could pick it up from ten yards! It is a lot louder than my other ones, maybe because of its snap on back. Anyway one mans loss and all that 👍

Got mine a couple of years ago. It's a D-Shape Case Connie Ref. 198.0004. Didn't wear it too often since it was humming all night through my better half's REM Sleep when lying on my wooden bedstand 😀

So it went back to the box and rests there in piece. But happy wife - happy life as you all know 😁😁
