Great thread. A birth year 1979 5513 is kind of on my wish list but I don’t know if I can stomach the asking prices

To me the 5513 will always be the quintessential Rolex reference. These are now priced well out of my league but a birth year MAXI dial will always be a grail for me. Love seeing all the pieces in this thread!

Got my 5512 back from my watchmaker (repair was pandemic delayed). Just in time to put it on my Rolex franken bracelet: 93150 ends and 78790 clasp

(I like the flip lock but don’t want the bulk of the dive extension. Yes, I have put aside the rivet bracelet it came with.)

A good excuse to post a photo and resurrect a thread of great watch photos.

Yeah, it’s not a 5513. 😗

Old subs are nice. For me one of my attractions is the original T19 on the early matte dial watches, they provide that charming distortion but aren't as tall as the super domes.

Every Rolex collection should start with a 5513!
If one has the budget. But then, given your moniker......I get it. 😁

Here is my 1970, non-serif. I always meant to pick up a set of vintage hands as these are just too clean and shiny... if anyone has a set, please let me know. a T19 would be good, too!
