these we bought over the past year and a half or so. oh and there's plenty more for $200 and under...
Most of my collection is sub $200, but here are some gems. There are so many amazing and unique pieces out there for amazing prices. I know these aren't Rolexes, but I don't know that I would get an additional $10,000 worth of enjoyment from a new SS watch with a crown on it. (This was $20....) Single jewel stop-chrono. but still nice styling Got all 3 Titoni Seascopers for $200 on the dot.
I’ll play too, although to be frank, if the limit had been $400, I could have included my whole collection!
Best ever bargain watch is probably my once in a lifetime find of a early SmithS , found it a bric a brac shop last year . It doesn’t get worn much as I find it a little small for me , but I do appreciate the style .Have a few more under the $200.00 bracket too , but will have to have a route around to get them together .
This was my sub-$200 haul from 2019. Omega and Eterna hummers, a Bell-Matic, a wacky East German cop watch from UHF Ruhla, a gorgeous Cyma Triplex with an odd-numbered dial, this waterfall dial Citizen with dagger indices, and a Seiko SMY003 kinetic diver. I get double takes on the Seiko from people who think I'm wearing a Rolex GMT, but know that I don't seem like the kind of dude to wear a Rolex GMT
Nothing really rare or expensive, though the Midlands may be rare since you don't see that brand often, but all under or near 20 USD. Midlands 25 jewel 2453 Movement. Works great keeps good time. i wear it often. Shanghai Watch Factory reissue. 19 jewel medium high beat. NOS condition around 6 USD. 80's Bulova A Schilde moment great shape wear it often. Caravel of New York quartz Chronograph factory refurb new condition with box and papers for 30 USD. Gave this one to my Nephew for Christmas. Unusually accurate ( -2 seconds per week in 28 day test) Pobeda NOS condition for around 30 USD. Like I said nothing particularly rare or valuable but excellent watches for very little outlay. I have a few more in this class but these are the best condition finds.
Perfectly possible to find nice vintage jumbo (36mm and up) watches on ebay with a bit of luck! 40mm for the Optima, and 38mm for the Seiko and the Tissot.
My one very lucky buy was in 1983. This GMT was a mess , no crown, cracked plexie, didn't run. Oportunistic purchase price of $130 ! That only happens once, I think it cost me $200 for full service so that detracts from the $200 admission to this thread.
