I have been recording any jumbos I see for the last few years to look for common design elements.
1 example of 14396 gold capped.
5 examples of 14395 all gold capped.
23 examples of 14777 with majority of them being SS.
Most of the jumbo examples out there are 168.001 so didn't record them.

Hi,

Just received my 14777 today, in case you may want to record it into your database.

14776 61
Serial number 18858958
Case polished, but not too bad in my opinion.
Dial definitely can be better due to the moisture damage, but at least evenly spread out. To me, It gives the watch its character.
Scratches on the crystal (hopefully can be taken care by polywatch), but can see the omega sign in the middle .

Thank you

That is a nice example. In my view a little case cleaning up is acceptable when the edges are still sharp and the case back is so good. To expect any better is verging into OCD territory, especially for a sixty year old watch that is not easy to find.

Nice example, movement fits nicely into the 18,2 to 19,7 range I have observed for 14777 reference. All extracts I have seen put these originally going to Japan or SE Asia. I have extracts for my examples and all say Japan. If you get an extract let me know. Enjoy and hope you wear it, I do mine.

Thanks for the kind words.
I do like it and find it in fair condition

Thanks Marcus,

Before it arrived, I was a little concern whether I will like it or not as the dial did some lots of moisture damage. Was even considering to let it go if unable to accept the dial's condition.

But after receiving it, I find it nice and will definitely enjoy wearing it.

Photo from seller. Yes, they are from Japan.

Majority of these jumbo references have dial patina due to humidity of the countries they spent their life in.

On my list this is #3. This is the second on the forum after @hoipolloi example earlier in this thread. There is another on the Constellation blog from Desmond. All have the same mix of text font, case characteristics, hands and 505 movements starting 16.5m but all with different dials. The dial variants follow that seen on the date version 14395 where from the 5 I have seen there are ribbon, stripe and plain dials.

I have been looking for one of these jumbo Constellations for a while. The ones I have seen have been either big money ($4-5k) or have serious issues (cracked bezel, redial). Is there a good fishing pond I should know about? I appreciate any advice on this subject. Thanks

Follow every day japanese dealers. That's the best way. And a bit of luck. Maybe some day I will sell my gold plated 168.001. I will let you know then. Good luck!

Those are asking prices. But they are not sold for that kind of money.
