Hi all,

I saw two different font in Gallet writing, especially in the shape of the G (one more rounded and the other more angular) .
Also some have T in the subdial at 6hr while some does not.
It tried to link the font of Gallet to the T or not T dial but without sucess as I found every combination possible.
Does anyone here has ever studied this and would have a first answer?
I was told that one of the font with rounded G was an old redial but I doubt it...

The 'T' no 'T' in the houly sub register is making me nuts.

In addition to above, it's not painted hour markers vs. Applied metalic. It's not round vs. Oval pushers. It's not tritium vs no lume.

Is it possible there were more multiple dial manufacturers with different specs?

Was it a market requirement, i.e. American market vs. non-American?

Any new theories pop up since 2016?

Stupid T...

This is my Electa, private label pocket watch, for Porte & Markle, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Electa watch company was acquired by Gallet. This watch is from circa 1906. I am not certain when Electa became part of Gallet.

This auction win just arrived in the mail within the last hour. A quick polish of the crystal and a toothpick around the gunky edges is all it needed. If this doesn't raise your heartbeat then it's time to find a different hobby.

Even the bracelet is ridiculously cool.

I expect it to hold an EP 40 movement. I hope to get in to see my local watchmaker tomorrow to have a peak inside.

I've wanted another EP movement since I sold my last MC12. It's such a fantastic feeling chronograph.

Believe it or not, it looks better in person! ::psy::

Congrats!! That one looks to be a beauty. Cool flat pusher model. I have a flat pusher MC12 that I love.

These are the nicest finished pushers in this shape that I have seen. Not that I've seen a ton, but the few I've had have had sharp edges and had a more machined surface. These Gallet pushers are polished and finished so that they don't look like an afterthought. I always had a preference for round pushers and was willing to accept these flat ones because of the dial. But after seeing and using them, they're great.

My current set of Gallet. I've made many refinements over the years.
I may need to bring a black dial MC12 or Pilot back into the fold. Lotta white dial here.

So thats where they all are!

So nice. And your mix of bracelets and straps lets them shine. If i had to puck a favorite, the strap on the center gold mc12 would be it.

Can't really say i need an Excel-o-graph, but hard to resist a dial with pi on it.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! The Excel-O-Graph is such an oddball in the Gallet family. I have a few Breitling Navitimers and a Chronomat -- I'm attracted to the Excel-O-Graph as a cousin (rip off?) of those. :-)

A black dial would make it an even better team, very nice collection ! How about an Adanac by Gallet Navigator ?

I've thought about those a few times. Remind of modern Marathon military watches. A solid look.

I have a 1990 date version converted to auto eta 2892-a2 , created just before the Marathon steel navigators which eventually were selected by the USAF etc. Also have the 1986, and already sold the 1988 as i am not using these a lot. Had some Marathon`s as well but like these better. fun watches !

I've (probably over) posted this watch in other threads but not in this excellent brand thread.

Multichron 14k val. 72C.

You gotta love Gallet's art deco style font used in the '12'. The hands are blued and hard to see except in direct light.

I haven’t posted mine here yet, I‘ve just realized.

I‘m curious why some Gallet and EP branded watches have some weird lug widths such as 18.5/18.6mm rather than 18mm or 19mm.
