Came across this watch recently and for the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would think that pairing a lime green croc strap would be the way to go with this thing. Maybe the seller was colorblind? I can think of about 80 other straps that would look amazing with that. Anyway, I figured you have all come across some aesthetically challenged combinations in your buying adventures. Any truly hideous examples you want to share? Any before and afters? Everyone loves a good makeover story! Or, if anyone has some heinous looking situation that they want advice on, please post it here! I'm sure that many people can supply suggestions that would almost never involve a lime green strap.
For a period of time I insisted that the green leather strap suited my navy blue IWC electronic... It has a different strap now but I still dig the green
God dammit I don't even have the mental resolve to link to whichever thread had the speedy on that salmon skin strap... I haven't been the same since I saw it.

I actually like both - the strap and the combo. Actually I don't think the color combo is what's most wrong - but the strap is horrible and cheap looking. IF this were nice flat elegant croc someone could totally pull off the lime green thing. But it is disgustingly puffy. I'll grant you I have a very single minded bias for flat straps --whether they be flat thin or flat thick, for me flat is the elegant way to go.
Yours isn't terrible. Because the dial is relatively simple and only consists of two colors, the green here is complimentary. Also, you chose a green tone that coordinates well. I don't love croc in any colors outside of browns and black usually though, but I acknowledge that it's a personal preference. I don't hate this combo. The one I posted is annoying to my eyes because the cream color of the lume and the spot of red with a black dial, and the stainless color, just do not work well with a yellow-toned green. The focus becomes the strap and not the details of the watch itself. Straps should enhance, not detract. Also, yes, the strap looks cheap which is always a fashion no-no.
Sweet baby Jesus. I can pull off some flashy things, but I don't want to pull that off. I want to pull it out of my visual memory now.
Looks to me that the chartreuse strap won by default. It was likely the only one available that was the correct lug width for the watch case, and the correct length for the wrist. Is thevJunghans watch worn by a female? Girls have no aversion to wearing colours such as that one.
I have lady parts and I have a real aversion to the abomination that is this strap/watch combo. I will wear a lot of colors and combinations, but there's a way to go about it that isn't as cringe-inducing. You really need to keep it simple with chartreuse. It's a dangerous color. That's why it was worn by all of the villains in 90's Batman movies.
Some may see this as an abomination but at the time I enjoyed it and looking at it again I just may give it another shot
That is quite busy, though your commitment to exact color matching is to be applauded. I think putting it on plaid for the photo may have sent some people over the edge though!
Check out this doofus...I believe he linked two Omega replica NASA straps together to do a “Speedy belt” and a “Speedy headband”...what a doofus.
Other downside being it’s clearly the wrong size for that case. But I admire the balls for buying it and wearing it - rock it if you like it and don’t look back.
Sorry, there's a typo by me, it's Avel & Men, here's a link to their website. https://www.avel-and-men.com/en/16-luxury-leather-straps-and-genuine-sail-cloth-strap
