I don’t want to spoil your newest purchase but I fear that you might bought a redial.
The dial of the original gold plated 145.029 should look like this

Hands also seem to be replaced.

Cheers,
Max

oh interesting Max. I wonder if every gold top example is like your photo. Or could there be any variation through the years of production? I am very curious now and simply do not know 70s seamasters.

There might as well be other variations. It would help if you could post some higher resolution in focus pictures of your dial. Especially from the sub registers.

Cheers,

Max

Hi OF,

Let‘s see some 145.029 love! This ref is somehow not often seen around here, even less so the blue/white panda version! So I‘ll kick this off with a little history on my watch:

Let‘s see how many 145.029‘s linger in the collections of OF!

Have a nice weekend OF!
Cheers,

Max

That is beautiful, the case finishing is epic!!

No reason to be ashamed. We all paid some noob tax. Question is are you happy with it, and if not, can you return it?

You could also start hunting for an original dial. They do come up from time to time, keep an eye out on ebay.

Cheers,
Max

I’ve set up my search notifications for the dial. It’s gonna be a project. But I’ll wear it as is until then. I’m still curious if there was only one dial option or others.

Thanks
Will

Hello @Speedmasterfan88, I know this thread is old, but let me say, what an amazing piece you have. I'm going to buy the exact same Seamaster and would like to refinished it. May I ask where you got the service done? Thank you in advance. Regards, Viktor

I want your watchmaker to be my watchmaker! Truly a skilled craftsman. I never mind engravings on my vintage pieces. I think its part of the story, that's the romantic in me though. Beautiful watch I hope you have a lot of fun wearing it!

Here's my latest purchase. Bought it from my watchmaker who runs an Omega authorized service centre, fully serviced in 2020. The watch came with 653 end links, but without a bracelet.
In the pictures, it has Uncle Seiko Seamaster President for ref. 176.007 which has the same 1170/653 bracelet as the 145.029, but the US one has slightly narrower middle part and so doesn't fit right with original end links. Luckily I have one 1170 coming in and fingers crossed it'll be in good shape. Also the endlinks from US don't fit the watch head, so it has to be the original with this watch or nothing I guess.
