Should I buy this seamaster

Hey, everybody. I've recently have become interested in buying an old Seamaster. I'm interested in this one, but since I'm new to this I was hoping some of you could give me some input on this one. It looks mostly original to me, but I'm not that sure about it because I'm new to this. The seller doesn't have any pictures of the movement because he says you have to go through the crystal to get to the movement, which I understand is difficult to do. He says it was serviced within the last year though. I was wondering if there was any concerns with the watch that y'all have, and if y'all think it would be a good purchase and if it would what would a fair offer for it be? Thank you

Welcome!

I personally would pass. Dial has been redone in the past and if I'm not mistaken, this looks like the midsize version.

What are you thinking of offering?

I would pass, as the dial has been refinished. But anything can be a good buy at the right price...

Awful redial job. What a shame, the rest doesn't look too bad.

What method did they use to apply the lume pips with? A "random position generator"?

He had it listed at $500 or best offer, and I was going to offer him 400-450 I thought if y'all thought it hadn't been redialed or anything, but from what I understand that is a pretty big deal breaker.

You would be right about that.

Did the seller even mention the dial was refinished? That he didn't would be even worse.

Look at the "V" in DEVILLE. It's leaning.

Look at the "A" in the AUTOMATIC

Google can be a great way to quickly compare. I searched "Seamaster Deville picture" for examples. Beware they might not be correct examples but what do you want for free?
