I'm talking specifically about the lume on the minute hand that kinda seems two-tone. Just to be clear. This isn't necessarily "bad" and I definitely am not saying it's a bad purchase by any means. For me as a collector, having even colored lume is important, but it's not important to others. Some people care about unpolished cases, others not so much. For others, it's all dependent not the price they pay. It's ultimately about your taste as a collector and what you want. Enjoy the watch!

No, I get. It's the little details that one learns to appreciate with experience, especially to seasoned collectors. Me, I'm quite new to the hobby, so I'm far from regarding myself a collector 😀

My thinking was that while the condition/price ratio is good, why miss the opportunity? I can always sell the watch for what I spent on it and replace it with a better looking specimen if I'm presented with one. In the meantime, I can wear and enjoy it.

Cheers and thanks for the feedback. Appreciated.

No worries! Post a wrist shot when you get the watch and enjoy it!

I'm trying to repair the bracelet myself. The last most link, where it connects to the endlink, is damaged probably from wearing the bracelet too tight. It seems these bracelets weren't built to be repairable and online there's only vague information on how to.

I got lucky though, because @Archer has written a detailed post on how he repaired a 1479 bracelet. Leaving this here for future reference.

Now I figured that it's been only 2.5 months since I got the Speedmaster, but it feels much longer. I struggled for a while to fix the bent pins on the bracelet, for which I wrote in here. Then more than a month since I sent it for a service. Now that I have it back, looking good and in full working order, I can't be happier. Just have to remind myself I need to do a quick polish on the crystal.

Even with the cost of a service, that was a very good buy. Congrats.
