Going for no-date.
In fact, the vintage Explorers can really be things of beauty, too
Dont get me started on the Vintage Gilt Sub 5513s with the Explorer dials !
You will need to sell both your kidneys , donate 50% of your liver in a transplant surgery to a wealthy recipient & pray he or she pays for your triweekly Haemodialysis treatments !

Check Bob's watches as well. They have Rolex certified service center and they are good wheb entering a dialogue to discuss

Mine is a 5512 from 1971 (birth year) and I found it in North Carolina, got it serviced with care and checked by a few experts. The crown is probably a service replacement and the bracelet is definitely an original replacement from a couple of years later ( I normally wear it on leather and keep my 14060 on steel)

All the rest is original. It's a 4 line non gilt 4th gen 5512 . Same reference and year as the famous Steve McQueen 5512

In short it's a great watch, not the most desirable or priced refference (nonpointed lugs, gilt etc) but definitely an honest watch.

It fell in price under 10g and I've been offered above 10g for it.

Not meant to be a thread hijacking but does anyone know where I could pick up an appropriately aged dial dot/pearl for a Rolex 5513?

Oh yeah....The pearl on the bezel on mine is also a replacement my brother in law gave me. My bezel came with the missing pearl.

Ad to where you can find it place an add on the wanted to buy thread.

hard to beat the gilt dial on a 5513/2. I'm just not willing to pay the price, so will live vicariously through the forums.

Vintage Rolex Market is a great place to find original bits and pieces for Rolex watches.

It DOES exist!

... and what a drop-dead gorgeous beauty she/it is (yes, Megan, too) !

Now, question is, will I have to travel all the way to Malaysia to get her? 😗... 🤔 ...😁
