Your 5512 is The same refference as mine. Mine is 1971 my birth year

Love it!!
The 5512 is my favorite...the hacking movement lets me set the time to the second. Being anal, this little detail brings me joy 😀

look closely at mine...its an unusual dial. Note the size of the 4 lines...at the time I had no idea, but as I learned more I realized this one was special with its extra long SCOC. Its these slight variations that make the hunt even more enjoyable.

Sweet pieces 😉

While I am much more into Tudor the 60's / 70's 5512/3 is the benchmark

Mine is the second on that category list. Not a Maxi Dial technically according to him (and I think most would agree) even though some experts have mentioned it is a maxi....I don't think so. It all falls into the 3XXX.XXX serial with the non aligned FT.

This brings me into the realization that even though to date I have been told this qas 1971 the serial 3443XXX corresponds it seems to 1973. I have to look that up but that is a bummer as i bought it as a birth year and all research then matched that.

what is your serial?
mine is 3,33X,XXX which is 1972

look at the serial number project here:

edit:
I see your serial now...so yours is later than mine...I would think yours is also 1972.

Look at it this way...now you have a valid excuse to get another one 😀

Got my first 5513 for $1,000 on ebay back in 1999...sold it like a fool. It was nothing special, just a 1 owner 1970s that didn't have great patina.

I longed for that watch for years...

And then they were $3k...$4k...$5k...man, I missed the boat.

Paid through the ass for mine last year, but could not be happier. To me the 5513/2 is the perfect vintage diver...watch for that matter...classic and balanced.

It could be my only watch.

The 5512 and 5513 are some of my favorite references...the 5512 is the piece that got me hooked on vintage.
All are one owner watches I bought from the son or daughter, each came with a wonderful story. I think I enjoy the quest more than the watch 😀
1- 1968 5513 MF
2- 1967.II 5513 MF
3- 1972 5512

The 5512 was my first Rolex, and I was instantly hooked. Thanks to all the experts at TRF (including John long before he built his website) for all their advice I was able to find 3 very nice honest examples that became the foundation of my collection and obsession.

Outstanding. Great collection!

Please indulge me... I need to see some pictures... I'm not yet familiar with such a combination...😕
Gilt 5513 for your comparison. This one came out of Singapore.
Everything checks out, even the geiger reading.
