Hi all, looking for some advice. Having read the wealth of advice and opinion on Omega servicing I decided to send my 2231.80 Seamaster to a BHI registered guy who was recommended to me. Problem is, I need a new crown ans he has said only Omega can replace these.

I'm torn because I don't want Omega to service it or to pay their premium/wait around for it to get done but I don't want a steel crown on my freshly serviced titanium watch... It'll look meh!

Can anyone verify this is the case with replacing Ti crowns?? Thanks in advance

Any watchmaker with an Omega parts account that grants them full access to parts can order and replace a Ti crown. There are no restrictions on things like crowns just because the crown is made of titanium...

My guess is that he doesn't have an Omega parts account, and can find the steel version of the crown on the open market, but can't find the titanium version, so he's suggesting this because he can't find the right crown.
