What are people's thoughts on N&F vs APC vs Nudie? I've been wearing a pair of N&F for 3 years and they are wearing in nicely.

I can only comment on APC. Quality is not the best but pretty good nonetheless. They are considered fast faders and they tend to stretch quite a lot.

I've never worn N&F. I've only worn Nudie jeans that are washed and non-selvedge. They are quite comfortable. 😀

oh yea I agree Nudie's prewashed are comfortable. N&F last a while, but I heard APC is not the best in terms of quality. Don't know about their fade half life though.

@Sidrox25 - Yeah, I've heard APC's are prone to tears. Especially around the high friction areas like the knee and crotch areas. But they do fade quickly.

Check out @micampe's APC fades on page 1.

What about N&F? What are your thoughts on their fabric, cut and construction? Would love to hear your thoughts since I have no experience with the brand.

All jeans are going to be prone to tears in high friction areas, especially if unwashed for a long period of time.

@cchen - Yes, that's true for all denim. But APC tends to happen faster than other brands. 😀

I made my own pair of jeans at a weekend workshop at Blackhorse Lane Ateliers in North London. Blackhorselane.com
I would highly recommend the course. Fantastic passionate people and a great experience.

I opted for a selvedge denim made in England. It was the first batch produced and I believe the only selvedge denim made it England.

I used the white selvedge for the top of the ticket pocket, created a ridge through the middle of the back pockets by folding them and stitching.
I also opted for a two tone finish to the back pockets, leaving the top stitch mustard and the rest navy blue blending into the jeans.
Part of the construction used the earliest form used, the single piece fly, which provides extra strength I believe.

Really pleased with the outcome.

I've heard good things about Blackhorse Lane. The construction looks solid. Especially the bartacks on back pockets and single piece fly. Old school but they provide extra strength. 👍
