Hey guys.

I‘m a hobbywatchmaker since 4 years now and i‘m servicing Watches now at a regular basis. I‘m also selling some Watches that i have worked on(mostly under 200€ Watches). I‘m really unsure if i should put pictures of the servicing process in the Description. Or if i should even mention it. I mean technicaly it is serviced but i‘m not a professional watchmaker. On the other hand i do think that there are people who Like to See a Picture of a service.
I can See that the scales of the timegrapher are better than before and thats what i call a sucessfull service. I even use the Same oil.
Whats your opinion?

Sure, you should say that you are a hobbyist watchmaker and that you serviced it. Maybe write a short description of the service that you perform and include it in each listing. For entry level watches like you are describing, I think that people will be happy that someone cleaned and lubricated the movement, even if you aren't a professional.

Hello ! Ofcourse you should mention it ! Many hobbyist watchmakers do exactly that .. (look at FAM) and I as a potential buyer like to see the work performed by somebody much more competent than me .. it gives trust in the watch for sale .. we are talking here "normal" watches, not high end watches (haute horlogerie)
Good luck !

I would guess there fear comes from the fact that if something is not working with the watch later on (power reserve is super low, hands getting stuck etc. even if it's not the sellers fault), people could come running back claiming it was advertised as serviced, thus they were expecting perfect running condition and paid a higher prize because of that. And that is something you can avoid by just not mentioning it or just advertising as "running but not further tested".
