It’s funny I always turned my nose up at seiko. I did receive a few nice looking quartz seikos as gifts over the years, one is particularly handsome. But this place and another forum has really awoken me to how well these watches are made. I really want to pick up an automatic that damn baby monster in bright orange keeps catching my eye. I just wish they had a 38-39mm im concerned if I get a 42 or they might be 44 it may be a bit big for me. I’ll keep my eye out for a used one but you guys have some beautiful watches and seikos are good when you want a solid automatic but unexpectedly find yourself on a budget.

Hello. Could someone recommend the best place to but the baby monster or OM seiko with the orange dial that has been catching my fancy. What model would I be best off getting if I need to budget myself for the time being. I do see them on amazon would that be my best bet? I see them ranging from under 200 up to 800. I think the 800 are Prospex but my knowledge of Seiko’s are next to nill. I even looked in the for sale section here but didn’t see any. Just a push in the right direction is all I’m looking for. I’m gonna check out the jewelry store where I get my watches serviced but his prices are a bit ridiculous on things being a small shop. Thanks

Good grief. I'm beginning to like these things again

 

Here are my Seiko’s. I love them all, but wear the 5 sports and the Pepsi most often. I play a lot of different sports and they are usually my companion on the wrist. Surprisingly, These two watches get more attention and compliments from people vs. my speedy. I think my next Seiko is going to be the green dial alpinist. This is now discontinued.
