Me, as I’ve frequently shown, I prefer a simple dress watch with indices rather than numerals but, presented with the choice of the stylish, classic, and unfussy Seiko as opposed to the over fussy (IMHO) silly looking (IMHO) overpriced (again IMHO) JLC, it’s Seiko for me.

I thought from the title you where joking around... then was like oh man this is hard!

those JLC’s in hand are stunning. The finishing on them makes Omega look like... well a Seiko.

It’s got to be the Seiko 55th trilogy for me (minus the tuna as it does absolutely nothing for me )they suit my lifestyle a lot more than the JLCs .

JLC for me, no question. I’ve only ever handled JLC but the quality is immediately apparent, like it is in seeing a Mercedes 300SL gullwing or Da Vinci ink sketch.

But if it's minus the tuna then wouldn't it be a "biology"? :D

Seriously there pongman, if I had your money I would just buy 'em all.

ok ok to answer your question, I would snap up the JLC and never look back. It's just a matter of time before all them fancy-shmancy new seikos are gonna start showing up second hand in the local neighborhood Lhuillier branches but you ain't never gonna see a JLC there as Michael will snag that for himself :D

I would love to have the two on the right, but yeah the Tuna has never floated my boat. That is not my favorite JLC by any means though, so it would have to be the trilogy. But I'd rather have the Omega 50th Trilogy from 2017.

The year display on the JLC certainly brings back memories, though maybe not $20K worth.

There are so many better options for $20K than either of those choices.

JLC.. were you talking JLC or Credor or the top GS perhaps this would be a discussion.

Well, if we’re not limited to the original options, I’d prefer this JLC

    upload_2020-7-25_1-52-44.jpeg

Or three of them - to get the spend up to 20K

The modern JLCs, including the sport versions, seem rather drab relative to the Seiko’s robust presence. It seems that JLC vintage lines have more flavor than their new stuff.

I think the 62mas reissues are all pretty good-looking watches but the other two are a haaaard pass from me. Even though calendars & moonphases aren't necessarily my thing, that JLC is the easy choice. It's such a lovely watch

I never paid much attention to that JLC model, until I had one in hand at a boutique. Eight years later I still think about that dial... I really like Seiko divers, but there's no contest here IMO !
