·Up for sale is my Seiko Sportsman from December 1966 in particularly good condition.
The plated case shows little wear. The dial looks perfect to me and has faded to a very pleasing bluish tint.
It comes on a beads of rice bracelet with Seiko-marked clasp. I have no reason to think the bracelet is not original Seiko, but I do not know for sure.
It is running very well and keeping good time, although I do not know the service history.
The calendar is non-quickset, and it does not hack, as to be expected from a watch of this era.
The case is about 36mm, but it wears larger. I’m one of those guys who has found watch “perfection” in the Speedmaster, and this watch feels good on the wrist to me.
Considering the excellent overall condition and the rather unique bluish tint dial, I am asking $275 for this one, and I will cover CONUS shipping. Payment by PP F&F please.
Buyer can return the watch for any reason within 48 hours of receipt, at buyer’s expense, provided the condition is the same as when received. After 48 hours the sale is final.
Thanks for looking.
Edit: I just got its brown-tinted cousin back from the watchmaker and have decided to keep them both. They make a nice pair. Thanks to everyone who looked at and considered this watch, but it is withdrawn.
