Hi there - at first look it seems ok, and it may still be, but when compared ot the one I have here and the photos earlier in this thread on zoom:

    1. Carved logo looks a little 'thick' - the o and r in Lord are joined, whereas all other examples I have seen there is a gap, for instance.

    2. Minute markers are too long vs other examples in this thread and on ikagai's site.

    3. Some slight differences in the Diashock font - square ends to the lines of the D, as apposed to a taper, gaps in the loops etc.

Happy for others to call it original, but I would have to say its a 'good redial' from what I have seen.

Thank you for your feedback you spotted the right things, I will let this go without regret, this is the granulation of the paint that make me in doubt. Indeed i think it's a good redial buy still a redial. I hope to catch one at a right price, I love the story of this piece ans i cant deny i am a Seiko boy.

There's a good reference for Seiko Lord Marvel here at:
    https://www.specialdial.com/post/first-generation-lord-marvel-a-primer

I'm no expert on these but will chip in my two cents.

I believe the carved logo does look original. Have seen both examples of the o and r being joined and also separated. Will attach pics below.

Agree with @Spinakerr that the minute markers are a tad long and that the Diashock font looks too thick as well. As for the Japan logo having serif font I'm not sure abt this. From what I can tell mine doesn't have serifs but the ones I've seen don't tend to have them (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

My conclusion is a pretty good redial too.

Here's my own SLM SD Dial with joined o and r.

The following pics below have been taken from the special dial website that I referenced above featuring both joined and separated o and r's. And the slim diashock fonts.

Everytime I put mine on I marvel at how this tiny fonts where handcarved! Truly underappreciated pieces.

All the best in your search @JohnRaz. I'm sure another one will surface with time!

Looks good to me - can't spot anything amiss - @ikanbilisclub anything you can spot?

Standard aged dial appearance, which I think is a good sign - very rare to see any 'perfect' dials.

I asked for a picture of the inside mecanism and backcase, here it is :

The reference is J14068 that i don't know. A MK3 with different case, very similar to the J14038.

lovely write up and images. I acquired mine around 3 years ago for around £250 and frankly speaking they represent unbelievable value. It’s a amazing to think how cheap it is to get something as a birth year, hi-beat, vintage and with bags of charm and character. enjoy!

I think all in all looks pretty decent. the J14068 reference means that it has gold filled beveled lugs.
hope you get it for a decent price!
