Seiko 6139 Clasp on a 6138 Bracelet?

SO, because I'm a completionist (it's a problem) I'm interested in putting together a Seiko 5 Sports bracelet for a 6138-0030 that I'm acquiring. Of course there are two issues with this, first the original bracelets are bloody impossible to find and two, they are fairly uncomfortable.

Here's the ask: I've found an 18mm bracelet that matches the 6138-0030 style and a clasp from a 6139 (which is a 19mm bracelet). Does anyone know if you can take the clasp from the 6139 and slap it on the 6138? My hunch is yes because the clasp is bigger than the bracelet, but I would love everyones thoughts.
