Hi guys,
I am pretty new here (well been in and out for a while but don’t post much! Lol) and love all the great info. I saw the message about posting a thread like this and thought wow perfect, as I have (what I think is (not sure on year)) a1958, gold, omega constellation with the arrow head markers. I live in France but in the sticks and don’t have a watch dealer that could check this out anywhere near me, I would probably have to go to Paris! I have been holding on to it for a while but would be happy to sell it, which is why any info would be of great help! Tried to take some pics and hope they are ok
Appreciate the communities help

Hi @stu49520
It looks like you have a French gold-cased constellation based on the mid-late 50s Swiss Omega cases. (The large prominent stars are the ‘tell’ that it is a French or English case)
The case looks to be pink gold?

the lugs look fairly rounded, so difficult to say which exact reference it is meant to replicate.

If you are looking to describe the watch in an advertisement, you will need to ( have someone ) pop the back off to see which movt it has and serial no - which will give you a better idea of the year.
Hope that helps.

+1 on the French origin. The eagle head hallmarks on the side confirm this if I'm remembering my marks correctly.

I'll also take a shot at guessing the reference, although you will have to confirm this by taking off the back.

It looks to me like an early 2648, either with a later dial or 50s/60s service replacement (Early 2648's have 'Omega' printed rather than applied.) The proportions of the bezel vs the dial seem to be a match, considering that early gold 2648's seem to have the dial be more prominent versus the bezel compared to later, pre-dogleg references. If this is the case though, you should be able to feel "bumps" when lightly shaking the watch, as the movement will have to be of the bumper variety.

The crown is a 'clover'-style replacement from a 50s/60s Seamaster, and is not the decagonal variant that this model was introduced with.

Looks correct, albeit patinated with stains around 11, which does affect the value significantly. Everything else you can read above, pictures of the movement and the inside of the case back are still what you’d need to sell it as good as possible.

I see no severe stains at 11, I see a dial that is quite evenly patinated with aged lacquer. It´s a vintage watch with aging/patination and I think it´s beautiful and with the rose gold case, I just love it. Even though smooth cases normally are very worn, I like the appearance of this one. 😀 The very sharp angled cases are not my cup of tea.

I guess approx US $1.500 is a fair price, considering the condtion/dial, or put it on e-bay and let the market decide.
