Seeking info on dads old watch

Hello and nice to be here. Just found this in my dads stuff and wonder about a couple things. Looking to figure out how old this is and if my measurement of 18mm for a new strap is accurate. Thinking a blue alligator from Monstraps would be nice. Also not sure what happened to the 5oclock marked and if anyone has spare parts or know where to look. I don’t have anything thin enough to remove the back so sorry for limited pics. Not worried about value since it’s sentimental and likely never sell. Many thanks in advance.

Probably a model 2846 from the mid to late 1950s. There are other possibilities but that’s my guess. Uses the full rotor 501 movement if so, though it’s also possible it’s an earlier bumper movement model.

Yeah, I sold one of these recently, with different markers. I like the OP 3-6-9-12 dial, but it's a shame about the missing marker.

Actually looking at the ridge round the caseback, maybe it’s more likely the bumper with the press on back whose number escapes me, 2767 I seem to recall.

Yep - it’s a 2767, probably dating to around 1954. Crown has been replaced. As for the marker, a while back someone had posted a bunch of markers for sale here on the parts section of the forum so may be worth digging that thread up.

I agree with Padders, looks like a 2767 with bumper movement, if it is a bumper it is probably pre-1955. Yes, 18mm would be the correct width for the strap.

Finding the hour marker could prove to be a difficult task. Your best bet is patiently searching on ebay for a beat-up or refinished donor dial.

That was most likely @DON - his updated sale post doesn’t include the markers anymore but maybe he can comment on what his stash has to offer / OP could drop him a PM. 😀

You all are so helpful, thanks again for the info. My mom told me she remembers the watch having a type of flexible metal band to begin with. Thinking about light blue suede or maybe even a reptile band to compliment this piece which seems to run well.

Flexible bracelets were popular additions and one could have been installed by the dealer at the time of purchase. But they were not generally made by Omega or original to the watch. You have a nice watch and a great heirloom, I hope that with some patience you're able to find a marker.
