I don't think cal 599 exists and the number of that movement certainly doesn't read 599. It's too low res to read but it looks like -61 to me, not sure of the first digit.

It's supposedly a chronometer movement based on the adjustment engraving but the only chronometer movements ending in 1 are 331, 551 and 561 and it's none of those.

Thank you for clearing this up for me . I take it the 565 as the more disirible movment as I've never seen a 120 with 681 movment before ?

It would be, yes. Ladies watches generally don't have the same level of interest as mens watches.

Nice touch from the seller not to mention that it is the ladies size!

Happens all the time with these, you aren't the first and you certainly won't be the last!

A little tricky to assertain from the front on pictures for the inexperienced but a quick tell is the crown size.

Good luck with your hunt, they are a great watch and at the moment still a comparative bargain.

    I have a Seamaster 120 model 135.027 no date
    [IMG]
    Cal 601 hand cranker
    [IMG]
Once had a Seamaster 120 model 166.027 with cal 563 also
    [IMG]
Traded it with another member toward a Seamaster 300
    [IMG]
The 300 has a cal 552 but not sure 120 came with that caliber
