Hi everbody,

I am looking for Seamaster small seconds.
I would like to hear your opinion about this watch?
And the value for the money.

Price for the watch would be 1.600,- €

This would be very overpriced at half the price. Redial, extremely polished, completely tired movement. With some patience you can find a very good example well in the triple figures.

It's supposedly a 2576, which Omega lists as a Seamaster in the vintage archives. The serial suggests it's a very early example so it might have started life without the Seamaster writing, if I'm not mistaken.

My recommendation is to find an unpolished case. This one is heavily polished. As stated above, very overpriced.

This is true. But it didn't start life with that block dial though.

Shame on the dealer. I quote,
"Watch is truly in collectors condition, an all original watch with razor sharp edges and service history. Year is based on serial number of the movement. Buy the seller!" (My italics.)
They re-state that the late-1950s-style dial is "original", and I'm sure it is - just not to any "1948 Seamaster". One of the latter in this condition really would be rather unusual.
