Hello Everyone! first post here. Newish to the watch world, and have fallen head over heels with Omega!

I've come into possession of a Seamaster Polaris. The band (1455/448 marked on the clasp) is in pretty horrible condition and I'm trying to rebuild it. it's held together with very small spring bars, which from what i've researched is the older style. does anyone have any experience with these or know where to get them? I've ordered single shoulder spring bars that I think might work but im curious if anyone knows where to source these.

Omega quoted me $450 for a new bracelet over the phone I may end up having to go that route anyways but if i can save the original one I would like to!

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure if it's worth to spend 450 USD for a bracelet alone that is of a quartz watch. For about that money, you can get the whole watch serviced. I am not sure but I think if you send them this bracelet, they might repair it which might be without any additional charge. Otherwise, you could look out on eBay or another platform to buy a used one for much less. Just make sure to search by the number written somewhere on the watch.

Perhaps look for a beaten watch or used bracelet online
If you can measure the spring bar Id just google "" mm spring bar and I bet you will find it.

yeah I agree that’s a much higher amount than I want to pay. I may bring it to omega and see if if they’re willing to repair it

I took some careful measurements and I ordered some 8mm single shoulder spring bars that might work. They’re being delivered on Friday so we’ll see!

Maybe, I was not clear enough in my wording. What I meant to say is that if you choose to service your watch and send the bracelet alongside, they will most likely repair it. Saw people having missing link pieces and even clasps replaced for new ones.

But since you ordered some new spring bars, servicing is redundant at this point.
