I'm not nuts, That's a Zappa lyric

Once again, we see music causing BIGGGG TROUBLE 😜

I'm glad to see that FZ still gives us a laugh and quoting his lyrics was something most Zappaphiles get pretty good at.

We know what it is.

..... and if you're a regular here, you ARE nuts in some small fashion. What normal person owns this many watches?

I'm a WIS with the emphasis on the WATCH IDIOT part trying to get to the SAVANT stage, hence all my questions that you've probably all heard a million times before. So does anyone know what year the earliest wide "S" came out?

Thanks

CS

Exact year? If I were betting on it, I'd say 1960 but I'd insist on a year either way. That might be a better answer for "what year did Omega stop using the coathanger S" though. I'd have to look to be sure that these weren't service replacement dials, but I know I've seen the wide S on late 50's 50x series Seamasters.

Thank you for your help. At least I now know that it is within the realms of possibility that my '63 model could have come with the script it has although it may be pushing it a bit fine if the movements were usually much newer than the case and dial as I have been led to believe.

I have seen several versions of the coat hanger "Seamaster" script, the wide "S" and Seamasters from around this period that had no "Seamaster" at all. Confusing to say the least.

Thanks
