seamaster mid size help needed

I have a old seamaster blue dial mid size. the circuit is completely gone due to water damage. is there any way of finding a new one or are there generics out there? omega want a fortune to replace but I have a watchmaker friend who will do it for free if i can find a replacement one but i wouldnt know where to start. ive looked on ebay etc but cannot find

I'd say post pictures not links. Who knows how long the omega site will work :smirk:


Chances are low that one of these will find it's way to the open market. Unlike the older painted dials, Omega never let much of the post 1990 stuff out into the wild. Not sure how much water damage the dial can withstand.

The electronics have a better chance. ETA was part of SMH, now Swatch group. I have not done a study there might be an ETA equivelent movement/circuit. I have been playing around with some ladies Tag/Heuer watches. So the movements are rebuildable.

Perhaps others will have better suggestions.

The 1538 movement is just a rebadged ETA. Yes you can find parts or complete movements. Search ETA 255.461. I picked up an original 1538 for less than $100 not so long ago but that ship may have sailed
