Seamaster logos and Co.

The seamaster fonts from the early 50's are numerous. There are too many correct versions to compile (but would be a worthy project!) I get the sense that towards the end of the 50's, Omega coalesced around the coathanger S that is familiar to most, but there are a bunch of fonts.

How much is the ask on the one in your OP?

The ask is about 1000$. But I repeat: The question is “behind ‘ the watch... it is an example to better understand the world of redial watches... to know it/to hate it
The question is still open about this dial or predomina view is for a untouched (original) dial? With the limits of the pics I had...

It's not open for me. I literally produced the same reference watch with same font for you. What's still the question? 😀

I think they started with a "standard" S for "Seamaster" then the "coathanger", after which they went back to the "Regular S"

I have given up on researching the Seamaster S issue - frankly, if a watch is redialed, there are better ways are seeing it than from the Seamaster font which changed back and forth a few times. I would say that the first watch could well be original, but would want to see better photos. Also, it may have been cleaned at some point since it is so bright. $1000 seems like a pretty high amount of cash - a jumbo, non-Seamaster sold on auction here for 2/3 of that yesterday...

About hands that age differently - this is completely normal. Most likely, the hands will have been sourced from a different manufacturer than the one who produced the dials and the treatment of the metal will vary.

@ConElPueblo
Thanks for your intervention, enlightening as usual. I repeat: I’m not so interested about the watch itself... My scope is better understand the matter “redial”... The watch I posted appear ok to me, even if the seamaster logo doesn’t match, under my past knowledge about this. Now I learned something news...
